as far as i could ascertain it was a mixture of colours and flavours causing the damage and another mixture of colours and flavours that were doing the clearing up.

May-be I'm missing something, possibly because I don't judge people by their appearence but sometimes judge actions.
I thought Bob had referred to the rioters, and the word bunny in a racist context is new to me, I've never heard it before.
I thought that "jungle" referred to "urban", in his post, and didn't see any wording in "bunny" as racist.
As said, I've never used the term before in relation to people, so I suppose I might as well call it quits on the topic, and consider that the rioters were looting while the Police stood by. that first night.
It must have shocked many people in Britain!
What I do know is that the riots started when someone insinuated on TV that our Police carried out an action against a man armed with a rifle in the streets of London on racist grounds.
Perhaps the Police should have arrested the perpetrator of the insinuations for incitement on a racist basis and for offensive accusations against the Police.
Perhaps the PC brigade should not have allowed him to utter his incitements on public TV.
Who knows!
Dear God.

you have to hand it to alex, when you want an alternative view on a subject he will always oblige.

I do partly agree with Alex though as I am against what Roger Manwood school have done (although I obviously know it is their right to do whatever they want to do), but hoped they would have risen above this nonsense and supported a member of their staff.
I still don't understand or accept why us white folks should take offence on behalf of another race when those people have not made any objection or complaint at what is alledgedly aimed at them.
The "Thought-Police" are knocking at our door and I for one (and the only one it seems) don't like it.

Roger - it isn't all about race. Please see my post #173 for my view!

I read your post Bern and although I agree about those with learning disabilities - or any disabilities come to that, this is simply not a fair comparison to make at all.
Black people or anyone who can speak for themselves, would do so if they were offended and the black people who were alledgedly offended against, have never made a complaint, so why are we busting a gut to do so on their behalf ?

# 179 Agree.............There are obviously still a few `closets` about.

Nothing to do with closets at all Reg - maybe water c;losets as this is getting very close to what goes down them.
It's about feigned offence from one race on behalf of another, when that race who is supposed to be offended against, isn't offended - so why should we be ?
I am not a racist, in a closet or out in the open and I really do not believe that Bob's comment was racist, unfortunate perhaps, but not racist.

Can I turn this round to a reverse situation with predominantly white rioters with a black councillor and teacher posting. On Facebook that teacher uses a derogatory racist term for hundreds if not thousands to see, you would not mind the insult even though he was teaching your children.

Roger if you do not believe the comments were racist then I despair, I appreciate you suffered at the hands of the press if I am correct, you obviously did not learn from your experience.

A GRAMMAR school sir who called rioters "jungle bunnies" on Facebook has lost his job.
Bob Frost, who is also a Tory councillor, posted the shocking insult less than 24 hours after trouble flared in Tottenham, North London, last month.
Mr Frost, 49, later apologised for the slur — but yesterday it was revealed he had come to a mutual agreement with school management to leave his £45,000-a-year post.
Chris Morgan, head teacher at the school in Sandwich, Kent, said: "I can confirm Mr Frost is no longer employed at Sir Roger Manwood's School." Mr Frost, who taught maths, describes himself as a "right-wing libertarian
He was elected to Dover District Council in May — but was last month suspended from the Tory party over the racist remark. It was removed from Facebook after he was contacted by a party member.
Mr Frost then wrote: "I have just had a phone call that accused me of racism."Needless to say I did not mean to use any offensive racist term and was referring to the urban jungle.
"As for the bunny bit, it was originally animals but I thought people might object to me calling fellow humans this so I chose something I thought was innocuous and also cuddly."
The apology was also later taken down and the Conservative party has now launched an investigation.
It's not the first time Mr Frost's postings have sparked controversy. His comments about single mums and their "push-chaired spawn" also came under fire

When the controversy came out about Bob's postings, I too read that about single mums, and wondered why that particular comment was not subject to criticism.
My conclusion was, it referred to single mums in Dover and Deal, who are white, hence no need for the PC brigade to say anything.

That appalling news. He does not deserve that for a simple ill-judged and bad taste comment.

The single Mum comments infuriated me, my daughter has been left on her own with 2 children, she does not have a car and does not "waddle" far from home as described by Mr Frost in his vile outburst against the single Mum's in his ward, she lives in his ward!!! She works hard, pays her bills and is doing a good job of raising her 2 boys without any help from her ex husband, albeit with a lot of support from my wife and myself. Good sport though to mock those less fortunate than yourself!! all the defence of him on here makes me angry and I will be delighted if a more caring person is elected to look after the needs of the ward that my daughter and grandsons live in whatever party they represent.

On this issue I agree with Martin, and have waited for some time for the comment on single mums to come up on the Forum. That particular comment was offensive.
