Same as all other victims of crime Keith, we have a police force and courts.
Name an enquiry that has changed anything

What enquiry David, who has commissioned an enquiry, and into what?
Quite right, these are serious crimes, the vast majority of which should see the inside of the Old Bailey and be heard by a jury.
However, there will be at least two other categories of degrees and shades of involvement, not participation:those who, for whatever reason allowed such behaviour to take place and those who could not prevent it and perhaps did not quite do all that they could have done.
I fancy that many in the final category above would welcome an airing of many issues of corporate or general disengagement and unconcern.

The BBC have recently been criticised for accidentally showing material with real or impersonated items featuring Mr Saville-since his exposure.
The first and the last edition of TOTP (and many in between) were presented by him- and excluding him-these programmes could be described as important archive material. However it could be that anything with Saville in it could never see the light of day again. Is it conceivable that the BBC be compelled to trawl through all their archives and remove all Saville material? How could this be done?
Can hospitals whose new wings were apparently down to his fundraising-ever come to terms with the horrible connection.
Will the National Railway Museum ever be able to do a heritage promotional display on 'The Age of the Train'-I think not.
It's likely that Saville has not only wrecked countless lives but also significantly blighted access to 3 generations of music and media...and... corrupted many charitable organisations by his association with them.
Never give up...

Savile is certainly an omniblight, but all is not lost.
The recent problem with the BBC centred on a pre water-shed broadcast that was complained about by only a handful of people, as the particular thing is hardly post water-shed material it is highly likely that it will never be broadcast again. No big deal surely?
As far as rebroadcasts of TOTPs goes it will not be a vast problem to excise Savile and others from the picture. As far as archive posters etc. to do with BR, this too is no big thing. You cannot research a war or any other conflict without being faced with the dark side of the particular conflict, research is an adult pursuit even for the young.
It is not going to be difficult either for hospitals etc. to get past their association with this creep. Hospitals are all about the sick, not so much about the Princesses and other 'notables' that wards have been named after.
Is there life after paedophilia? You bet.

Stuart Hall charged with rape.
Veteran BBC broadcaster also charged with 14 counts of indecent assault relating to alleged offences involving girls as young as nine
"
"Stuart Hall, the veteran BBC broadcaster, has been charged with rape and 14 counts of indecent assault in relation to alleged offences over the course of three decades, Lancashire Police said last night.
The force said that he was arrested on Tuesday morning after attending a police station by appointment and has been bailed to appear in court in Preston on 7 February.
The indecent assault offences are alleged to have been committed between 1967 and 1986 and to involve 10 girls aged between 9 and 16. The rape is alleged to have been committed in 1976 against a 22-year-old woman.
One of the BBC's longest-serving commentators, he made his name nationally as a presenter of It's a Knockout in the 1970s and 1980s, and its European equivalent Jeux sans Frontières. Hall, who received an OBE in the last New Year honours list, has also worked on a number of programmes from his base in the north-west, including Look North."

Man Jailed For 25 Years For Toddler's Murder
"A man has been ordered to serve at least 25 years for murdering the 15-month-old daughter of his former partner.
Barry McCarney, 33, of County Tyrone, was found guilty last month of Millie Martin's murder in Enniskillen in 2009.
Setting the minimum tariff McCarney must serve before being considered for release, Mr Justice Ben Stephens told the labourer at Belfast Crown Court he was a "deeply manipulative man" who had carried out a "sadistic sexual assault" on the child...."

From the Metropolitan Police via 'theneedleblog'...
"Officers from Operation Fernbridge have this morning, Wednesday 6th February, arrested two men on suspicion of sexual offences.
The men are (a) aged 66 from Norfolk, and (b) aged 70 from East Sussex. Both are in police custody at this time.
Commander Peter Spindler, head of the MPS Specialist Crime Investigations, said today ;
'This is a complex multi agency investigation supported by the NSPCC, CEOP and Richmond Social Services involving non recent allegations of sexual assault against children.
'It is vital that anyone who has been affected by or has information about activity in the early 1980s at the Elm Guest House, or the Grafton Close care home, in Barnes speaks to the NSPCC on their Helpline on 0808 800 5000, or their local police.'
The allegations under Operation Fernbridge were initially assessed under Operation Fairbank, which was information passed to police by MP Tom Watson. Operation Fernbridge reached the threshold for a criminal investigation. Other matters under Operation Fairbank remain under assessment.
The allegations are in no way connected with current residents of the address."

Surely Mr. Bliar would be as embarrassed now about that jumper, as much as being photographed wth Mr, Saville ?

"Lord McAlpine's statement - full text
Tory peer calls reports linking him to north Wales child abuse allegations 'wholly false and seriously defamatory'"
I am reminded of the time John Major stitched up a journalist by setting up the case for them to believe he was having an affair with the caterer Miss Latimer, when the journal in question wasn't wrong in that he was having an affair, but with the sainted Edwina Currie. Thus staving off further, closer, inquiries.
The pertinent terms here appear to be 'North Wales'.
[I have brought this back to page 1, because I have reason to believe there is further news afoot.]

Jimmy Savile police 'reluctant to investigate because of celebrity status'
Watchdog highlights failures in information sharing between forces and reveals DJ could have been stopped in 1963.
The HMIC's report warned that police officers could fail to prevent a Jimmy Savile-like scandal happening again.
Jimmy Savile's celebrity status contributed to the police's failure to prevent him sexually abusing hundreds of young people over
five decades when they could have stopped him in the 1960s, the compiler of a highly critical report by Her Majesty's
Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) has said.
The watchdog's inquiry into the police's handling of Savile revealed that the disgraced DJ, who died in October 2011, could have
been stopped as early as 1964 but police mishandled evidence and dismissed victims.
Drusilla Sharpling, from HMIC, said police appeared to be reluctant to investigate Savile because of his high public profile.
"It is clear that because of several Savile's celebrity status and the power, maybe people do look for that extra piece of
evidence, behaving with an extra sense of caution, because of the power he wielded," she told BBC Radio 4's Today
programme on Tuesday.
