15 months works out at just over a month for each assault which seems very lenient and is hardly a deterrent but I suppose his age was a factor when it came to sentencing. I suppose he will get the soft option and be in an open prison instead of being locked up with the other nonces.

The fact he has received a custodial sentence is a victory for those that came forward, it would not have happened 20 or 30 years ago which has led to so many lives being blighted, not a long sentence but it will mean so much to the victims.

Rumours abound...
There was one charge of Rape that has been allowed to 'lie' on file. There seems to have been much discussion around how to proceed, in the end he plead guilty to specimen charges at a hearing held in-camera.
Its not for me to speculate, as others have done, that he had one particular close friend in a high place.

Something wrong when Stuart first went public he denied all charges and made terrible remarks on the victims
It's since been found that Hall was the liar
and this is being looked at as a sentence that should have been longer and appeal courts looking at that.

Did Stuart Hall's victims relive their agony just for this? YASMIN ALIBHAI-BROWN says Hall's lenient sentence shows judges learnt nothing from Savile
"It started with a letter I received from one of Hall's victims...I handed it in, not at all sure any actions would follow. Four days later, I had a call from DC  Phillip Rukin, of Lancashire police, who informed me he had the letter and the force was starting to investigate Hall.
The police kept me up to date with their investigations, and were even able to locate the letter writer, with whom I finally had a conversation two weeks ago.
In the wake of Hall's conviction — but with his sentencing still to come — she sounded relieved but still a little frightened. I cannot imagine how utterly betrayed she must feel now.
She has learned that human beings deny truths they cannot bear to face up to, and thus perpetuate evil. And she must also feel that some of those at the top of society, who have the responsibility to punish evildoers, are unable or unwilling to discharge that duty.
Judge Russell is, I fear, one of those. But he is not alone..."

and well done to both the victim for highlighting the case

I am not condoning what he did in any way but in comparison to the sentence that the child abuser Stuart Hall received, 5.5 years seems rather harsh.

"A woman who claims she was raped by disgraced TV presenter Stuart Hall in a BBC studio in the 1970s is suing the corporation.

Disgraced presenter Stuart Hall facing new child rape quiz
"Paedophile Stuart Hall is facing a fresh police probe over claims he raped a girl of 12.
The sickening allegation is believed to be among five new ones brought against the disgraced BBC star that police are examining.
It is said to have taken place two decades ago after predatory Hall, 83, who is serving 15 months for sex attacks on girls aged nine to 17, met the girl through relatives.
A source said: "The victim was the daughter of friends well known to some of his relatives. She's now in her 30s." The four other claims concern sexual assaults.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that we have received further allegations against Mr Hall and we are working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service to determine the most appropriate course of action.
"We take all allegations of sexual abuse seriously and we would encourage people with any information about sexual abuse or who has been a victim of sexual abuse to come forward and report their concerns confident in the knowledge it will be investigated with sensitivity."..."
