This is nothing to do with youth centres and is just a matter of criminality, thugs and thieves taking advantage.
Ron - do you not realise just how little that money you are talking about is on the overall scale of things? Do you not realise that we need to repay debt not spend more?

Ones at a cafe in Tuscany not leaving a tip for the waitress and the other was seen belting around a fairground ride in Beverly Hills.
Crisis what crisis?

Interesting article, Howard. I would have thought it was possibly prejudicial to any future legal action though.
Quite right Barry. These are just criminals taking advantage of an unfortunate and tragic incident. These things just did not happen when people had to be trying to scrape a living instead of spending all day out of their heads on pot or crack paid for by those of us who grafted (or who still are grafting) for a working lifetime.

There is a clear message of whats right and whats wrong, and everyone knows when they are doing wrong and thats a choice thing.
HOWARD;
I share some of your views reference some community leaders using groups for there own ends, although as i don't have information on this i cant comment on this particular case.
But with regards to osbourne/cameron/may we are in a crisis and they are away whilst the country is falling apart

i see that the home secretary is cutting short her holiday to help deal with the problem, a lesson for the mayor who steadfastly refuses to put his bucket and spade away.

What we can do without is going back to the days of the regular riots across the country.
the police in all of this have a hard job now, trying to keep everyone happy, and having to talk to people maybe even they feel are part of the problem.
Let's hope it all calms down

The trouble has started again in hackney scenes of police cars being attacked the live stream of riots a sad vision of buses being caught up in it, people from thier own homes even throwing objects seems yobs in hoodies being the main troublemakers

Getting ever closer to the Olympic site.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

its getting a joke up there time this goverment stepped up to the mark and protected the law abiding people up there i personally think they should be shot typical yobs with nothing better to do. Yet doopy cameron still on his jollys i hope the good london people stand up to the tories as obvisiosly there aint enough police up there on the front line to cope another cracking job by the tit head tories.

Not a party political issue, naughty to try and make it one. We may have a Tory led government but the areas where this is happening have Labour councils.
I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson
But its the tories fault we dont have enough police on streets still at least we look after other countries rather than our own people . innocent people are being caught up in this

It is no more the their fault than it is Labours, these are mindless idiots who are hell bent on causing trouble. They are rent a mob that have been around for many years causing havoc whenever they can. Many years ago they were called football hooligans looking for trouble at matches now they join in with demonstrations that half of them know nothing about.
When this situation calms down they will be ready to join in with the next lot of trouble whoever is in power at some time in the future.
As for not having enough police there have not been enough on the streets for many, many years possibly dating from the late 1950's.

totally agree mel, protection of the citizens should be a fundamental duty of government.
innocent people should not have to live in fear, the future looks bleak with more manpower being thrown out of the police.
we seem able to go around the world "protecting" people who don't ask for it but not too bothered about our own.
Thankyou Howard some ppl forget the tories invested vast amounts of money into schools abroad yet tories making cuts after cuts here , innocent people are being left homeless, individual businesses are being looted and clear as crystal london doesnt have enough police on the streets to protect anyone.

just watching some of the live pictures, i am gobsmacked.
when we saw these scenes in northern ireland during the troubles, the troops were sent in to maintain order and to protect people and property.
cannot do that now, no spare capacity in the armed forces, they are out defending others.
this has gone beyond a police operation now.
Just heard a police officer was stabbed last night during rioting in the face , sadly i see a bad outcome to all this

seen some pictures from hackney , again youngsters throwing things around
so what is a profile of these kids ?
have they been working today ? are they on the dole ? have they been priced out of university ? and are they willing to work for minimum wage only to find someone else will work 50 hours a week for £5 an hour ?
