  as far as i can remember all new employees are taken on for a 3 month trial period, i would have thought that enough time to find out whether someone is up to the job.
  
  there is also the three warning letters that can be sent to someone not pulling their weight.
  
  from what i understand many cases go to tribunals who lap it all up, keeps them in work.
  
  if they were forced to turn away spurious claims then a lot of cases would not be heard and employers would have nothing to complain about.

  A fine line has to be drawn between spurious employment claims and bad bosses, but I think this is pretty good.
  
  The main problem with bad employees is after they are taken on as permanent staff as that is when they know it can be difficult to get rid of them, so they don't work as well as they could do.
  
  How many of you have called a company or a government department (DWP for example) and been faced with absolutely stupid, difficult people; you can't understand how come they got the job in the first place and then how can they keep it, being so useless/stupid.
  
  The dead-wood are of no value to any company or organisation and are costing the companies lots of money.

  I don't think anyone would disagree on moving on those who don't want to work or not up to the standard.
  
  but there has to be concerns as to how far emloyers go with this
  already theres an uneven playing field weiged heavily in favour of the employer.
