Same in my ward 4 party political bods in without a vote cast. Having said that two that have retired from town council for very different reasons, Sheila Amos and Pat Sherratt were the leading lights with Dover first in their minds rather than party loyalty.
Same problem in Deal with Trevor Bond working up a head of steam about how a Blue led Town council would be so much better!!

Just heard that the Reds held Aylesham despite UKIP targeting it. One of the winners is aged 19.

Buckland and St Radigunds both return Red councillors, UKIP were hoping to do well there.
Nigel Collor held onto Castle Ward.
The Blues keep both seats in Whitfield.

Sadly I didn't get re-elected, my two colleagues didn't get elected either.
There are now two Labour and a UKIP Councillor for the M. E. and Priory ward. I just hope they work even half as hard as I have over 12 years for the local community.
I had been very proud to have represented this ward and worked hard to make it better than it was.
Sorry to all those I was helping, that I now can't. I'm just another resident.

Bit of a strange result in Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory. Peter Wallace was always going to get the biggest vote but I don't believe that Andrew Richardson has shown any interest in the ward and most people would not have heard of him save for the solitary leaflet that was delivered. John Heron is an excellent chap and very knowledgeable about Dover's history but has never to my knowledge been involved in the ward.

Roger I feel strange as no longer a Councillor, although I'm still chairman for a few more days.Just going to an event now.For so many years I have been involved so now. I must leave it to the fresh blood to makes difference.

I guess people just voted for UKIP the party Howard, not the person.
I do too Sue. I know you've done many more years than I have, but I have enjoyed the three terms I served.

Roger, you have been elected, uncontested, to Dover Town council so you will still be in a position to help people, particularly local community groups. Each councillor gets a sum of money to allocate to local community groups. As a town councillor, over recent years, I, along with fellow town councillors, have helped several groups in Tower Hamlets, e.g. Grants to local nursery, drama, music groups, local residents forum for a Community Engagement Day, assistance with setting up an allocation association. Quite often funding shared with fellow councillors so can really make a difference. Sure you know which groups there are in PEVm that will benefit.

Thank You Pam.
I appreciate what you say, but I was talking about the relationship with DDC and the various departments there, particularly waste services, environmental health, property services, legal etc.
If that relationship can/will continue, I will be pleased. I'll find out soon enough as I have some cases I am working on.
Many people have said that they don't get a response from DDC officers when they email them and I have been contacted by some Town Councillors asking if I can help.

A great shame you were not re-elected Roger.
You helped so many while you were a councillor, even sorting out a problem I pointed out in my road even though I was not in your ward.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Hi, yes understand what you mean regarding officers, but you will have built up network of contacts which am sure will continue to help you as town councillor.

Pam is right Roger your network of contacts at DDC and the knowledge of how things work should really give you an advantage. Incidentally one of your colleagues elected unopposed at the same time as you has already been in touch with a local school with a view of giving them a grant.
