 - I'll check Howard to see if it is O.K. for me to disclose their names.

Jack - I think that Paul has been a Councillor for long enough to know most, if not all, about St. Margarets.

 - Roger - Knowing an area is not enough. A councillor should represent his community and actively be part of it. - Jack of Hearts

 - Think being approachable and able to take forward peoples concerns/views more important.

 - Jack, have you never heard of the phone? -
I doubt a councillor would appreciate an enexpected knock on their door wherever they live.

 - I've had people knock on my door, telephone me and send emails; I've also had letters too, asking for help. People also talk to me in the street.

 - Just had a leaflet through my door from the Reds who name their 3 District council candidates. Peter Wallace obviously, John Heron( long term forum members will remember him and Miriam Wood who I don 't know. 2 things stand out here:-

 a) Sue Jones seems to have chucked it in or is standing elsewhere.
 b) No mention of Town Council candidates.

 - I think Sue wanted to stand in the ward she lives in - St. Rads.

Maybe they haven't decided or haven't found 3 candidates.

 - Can't see them paying out for extra leaflets on just Town Roger, funds must be tight enough as it is. If Sue Jones stands in St Radigunds then either Gordon Cowan or Kevin mills would have to stand down. My betting is that one of them will go to the relatively safe seat of Aycliffe now that Jim Hood is retiring.

 - I hope we can get plenty of new faces with hopefully fresh ideas. I do not necessarily mean some of the names mentioned but several others as well. - -----------------------------------------------------------------------

 - In my ward I understand that the Blues are putting up Deborah Boulares who stood last time in St Radigunds and only lost by 50 votes and a customs officer name of John Ward.

 - And both live in the ward and care about Dover and this ward. Having 3 Conservatives will mean that we can bring even greater improvements to the ward.

 - What have they been involved with in the ward Roger? There have been many issues notably the Tram shelter and the bus, I am not aware of either of them being involved, apologies in advance if am wrong on this.

 - Today, have had a Green Party leaflet through the door stating who is standing where in the town council and district council elections. quite random, one for TC only, one for Town and
District and two for DDC and one for General election. Unusual to come out with this information so early.

 - Probably not much Howard, although, having said that, I hadn't done much if anything before I was elected, but have done my best ever since and I am sure Peter didn't get involved much locally until he was elected.

It may be a leap of faith at election time, but I am sure that Deborah and John will work equally as hard and together we can achieve a lot.

 - Well Roger I didn't vote for you the first time you stood as I had no idea whether you would be any good, after that I voted for you and Keef as you both were clearly working on behalf of the ward. Peter Wallace will have the highest votes this time around because of his tireless efforts in Maxton and Elms Vale. Getting back to living in the ward Andrew Richardson has spent most if not all his life in the ward and has never showed any obvious interest until he discovered that a proposed development would spoil the view from his house.

 - I don't think it is necessary for me to get into a competition about who has done more for this ward - me or Peter; certainly he is more visible on Facebook/Social-Media, but as I don't go on both and don't chat to him about what he's doing here, I can't say.

 - Howard .Andrew was elected to the River ward on a by election and he worked with me very well for twelve years. It was always his intention to rerurn to politics when family and work committments alowed .He was a good Councillor in the Council Chamber.
He wished to represent Maxton this time round .

 - Roger, I am surprised by your comment " I don't go on both and don't chat to him about what he's doing here". I would have thought it was vital that councillors would talk to each other about what is happening in their wards.

Surely the only way you can both serve your electorate really effectively is to work together both in and out of the council chamber.
