Vic - you will probably find that a lot of people "give a hand in lots of ways", but they don't want to self promote themself and get in the papers for it....
Been nice knowing you :)

I have not seen anything in the press about events or committees I am helping with.I will say that if you are puting on a event you need the press to know, you also seem to know more than I do.The only one I know was the Chess one,and that is now out of my hands but going ahead.
95% of what you read in the press about any of us,is taken by them off the forum.

I have to agree with Vic on that last statement. A couple of weeks ago I read an article in which I was heavily quoted, all of it taken from one posting on here.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Vic, you are in the local papers as Councillor Vic Matcham, and have held a TV interview; you stand a good chance of being elected in May.
Remember that 84% of Dover's people did not vote at the last election, and at that rate one can assume that the vast majority of people here are not in favour of any of the major parties.

One more seat now done, only one more to go on my list. But as I said this not about me,just away to get more of the public out there to vote,if I do not get in one seat but the return out is higher in the wards I stand in,I will feel that I have done what I set out to do.

Vic sorry mate but that is what it is,all about You,not once have you said what you will do for all the wards you are standing in,my guess is you have an electoral roll and you go through to see who you know.
Spreading yourself so thinnly has only one result,a thin vote where ever you stand.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

on the subjet of you being a councillor vic, when you done your star turn on the box at the bottom of the screen it said "vic matham ukip, parish councillor for river.
gave the impression that you are a ukip river councillor rather than an independent.

I cannot see more people turning out to vote than last time, and the recent parish poll somehow confirmed this. It seems that Dover has the lowest national turnout now in elections, and my personal view is that the vast majority of people here do not trust the politicians anymore.
