Thank you all so much.
Sorry I've not posted for a couple of days, but I've been running around like a "blue-arsed fly" as they say. Not just for the funeral arrangements etc. but to help Jean's daughter get things done, as she flies back to Majorca on Saturday.
Many people have (very kindly) said about Jean and how smart she was. I've been looking through them and her size ranges go from 10 to 14, depending on her medication at that time.
There are everyday wear, smart casual, and smart evening. Some never used, still with labels on, all are clean though.
Tops, blouses, jumpers, jackets, trousers, coats.
There's also shoes of different styles - some with (lowish) heels and some with no heels, sizes 4 and 4 1/2.
Loads of leather gloves etc. different colours, but all small hands.
If anyone would like to have a look through and see if there is anything they would like, please do let me know - 207551 or
lindenrog@aol.com. I would guess next week will be best.
I'm not asking any money for them, but like the funeral, if people would like to make a donation of anything however small, it will go to kidney research and from what I've seen recently, there's lots of that required.
Thanks again - see you tomorrow. If I don't get to taklk to all of you at Barham or at the Yacht Club, please accept my apologies. I'll also write and thank all of you who have sent cards (but I might need a loan for the stamps !)
Thanks again.

Sorry, I forgot to say and I appreciate it is a bit close to the day, but instead of flowers, if people would like to donate something, Kidney Research is the best thing I can thing of and there is a lot more research needed; there is a lot going on, but much more can be done.
If you've already done flowers, they'll be appreciated too of course.
There will be a collection box at Barham, also of course Farriers and if you prefer, online, on their website.

Goodness. Well, that just goes to show, doesn't it.
Roger, dear, I'm terribly sorry that we are very unlikely to be able to be at Jean's funeral tomorrow. You can be absolutely certain though that we'll be thinking of you and Jean, and we will spend a few quiet moments in silence and in spirit with you at the time of the funeral.
I know that very many people will be with you in person and in thought tomorrow. We constantly think of you.

I sent a tribute write-up to both papers and I am happy with both ofd them, different photos used, but no matter - I am very appreciative of the coverage; Jean was not a public figure, but to be honest, I thought she deserved recognition for the stoical way she was and I wanted to let people how much I loved and will miss her.
One of the Sympathy cards I received, said about the change, the sadness, from saying I love her, to, I loved her. How true.
I appreciate that some people are unable to come along for a number of reasons, so thank you for your thoughts anyway.
If anyone lives near our bungalow and would like transport, please come round, there will I'm sure be a number of seats available.
I understand the weather will be better too.
Hope to see lots of you tomorrow - a day of celebrating my time with Jean.
Thank you all so much.
Roger

I wish all strength and fortitude to you Rodger, to Heather, and to all your beloved Jean's friends that will be there today. Yours is a weighty but wonderful duty.
I shall be thinking of you today.

Good to speak with you too Keith, in Town and later at the funeral.
Obviously now, the funeral has taken place and the best words I can say is: Thank You.
Thank You for the lovely weather.
Thank You Farriers for a lovely funeral - everything you did was perfect
Thank You Barham for a beautiful Crematorium
Thank you Ken Childs the Minister who helped me through the service and helped me so much, to read and complete, the Eulogy to Jean - a truly good man who proves the good do not die young (he's 86), he brings comfort to the bereaved and makes the service so personal.
Thank You Ann and Pams for lovely flowers
Thank You to the Yacht Club - lovely venue and great catering.
And a huge Thank You all for coming, it meant so much to see you all there, it really did. Every one there I knew - and so did Jean - all her friends in Dover and of course her daughter Heather and and her Mum Elsie, who did so well.
Some of her friends were not able to attend for various reasons, but their spirits were with us all.
She is gone but not forgotten - Rest in Peace my Sweet-heart.
Roger
