Just to let you know that Jean had her operation yesterday afternoon and Heather (her daughter) and I were able to see her for a little while last night. She was in good spirits but very tired (sedated); the operation went well and her insides weren't as bad as the CT scan and X-ray suggested.
We saw her again today for a short time and the nursing staff said she is making good progress, so we are very plessed.
She will have another operation either tomorrow or Friday to clean her insides out and close her up properly (she just has gauze over the wound at the moment).
I've read her some of your lovely comments and she squeezed my hand and smiled, so that's a big thank you from Jean and me.
I'll keep you updated when I can.
