The follow-up operation didn't take place last night because of other hospital emergences, but did go ahead early this afternoon.
Heather and I called in to see Jean late this afternoon but because of all the drugs (morphine etc.) she wasn't aware of much. Hopefully, as time passes since the op. she will be more aware.
It may be TLC, general nursing care and physio that she neede most of and this (after a little while) could be provided locally.
I'll keep you posted and thanks once again.
John (JHG) until we know that Jean is out of the woods we don't know what happening - but whatever happens, thank you for the offer.
Roger

Thank you, Roger, for being so kind to let us all know, when you have so much to think about.
You know we all continue to keep Jean, and you and Heather, in our thoughts. When you can, please give Jean a (very gentle) hug from us, and hugs to you and Heather too.

Good news that the ops are all over & the healing process can begin. As always Roger, love & prayers are with you all, lets hope Jean can come back home in the not too distant future for her nursing care & physio. I'm sure she will get all the TLC she needs from you Roger & Heather too. xxx

Rog, a very belated message of support from both Michelle and I. It's been distressing to hear of Jean's woes and our thoughts are with you both at this stressful time. Praying for a full and speedy recovery and that we see the smiling, happy couple seen in Paul's photo, posted earlier on this thread. All the very best, mate.
True friends stab you in the front.

Thanks everyone.
I've just left Jean and because she is coming from a very low level (strength-wise), it really is going to take a long, long time; she not even strong enough to talk. They have now started filtering off some of the excess fluid, but can only take small amounts off at a time.
Heather has gone back today (to Dover) and flies to Majorca on Friday. Thanks for your help John, but Heather was in a hurry to get back, probably because Jean's Mum, who is 93, is getting stressed being in Dover on her own.
I'm spending most of the day with Jean; I'm sure she'll be O.K. eventually, but it will take more than all the love in the world to see her through.
I do thank you all for your very kind thoughts; they're helping me get through this.
Roger
