So dreadfully sorry to hear of this last night Roger. Very upset, Blakes seemed a little emptier last night, we all had many a chat in there with lovely gentle Jean. Thinking of you and your family at this time.
Best wishes.

Oh Roger, darling. This is such awful news. We are so very very sorry. We haven't stopped thinking about you all. Poor dear Jean, always lovely and always ready for a chat. It seems to me that day by day Dover becomes dimmer as our lights leave us.
We're so sad for you and the family to have to undergo this loss. Always the perfect gentleman you have been brilliant, and couldn't possibly have done more. You know your many friends in Dover will be there for you when you need them.
Rest in Peace, Jean. We are glad we knew you.

Thank you all so much.
I have lost a soul-mate and my best friend.
Jean always put other people first; I loved her so much, it really hurts.
Monday I can do things and will let you know what's going on.
Thanks again.

Very sad news, very sad news indeed...
Here is another picture of the devoted couple Roger and Jean
Since Doverforum started some 15 years ago Roger and Jean, a lovely lady, have been coming to our get-togethers and functions..and we have photographed the lovely duo at all sorts of official events too since those days. Its very sad news.. just as we were beginning to be hopeful.
Sincere condolences Roger from all here.

Now that I have my head together a bit I would like to add a few words, I hope that is OK.
I first met Jean and Roger around 2006 with my husband Les. We visited Dover to meet with some of the Dover Forum gang and stayed in Blake's. It was lovely to put faces to a few more names. I immediately liked Jean, how could I not like someone sharing the same name as me, but there was something more. Not only was she very friendly and down to earth, she was a truly classy lady. We were not strangers for long. I didn't even know she was ill at the time as she never complained and was always beautifully dressed and made up. Although we were not close friends, she was one of those women that stuck in my mind for all the right reasons - her warmth, genuine concern for others and quiet courage. We met Roger and Jean several more times at events and it was evident they were such a devoted couple. We were very saddened to hear of her passing. RIP Jean, you will never be forgotten.

Only just seen this sad news Roger. I met Jean a couple of times and she was a lovely lady. I'm so sorry for you and your family and you will be in my prayers too. I hope you find the strength to cope with the coming weeks and months and you know you have all your friends on the forum thinking of you. RIP Jean xx

That's beautiful Jeane - if Jean could read it, she'd be embarrassed. You're right, she'll never be forgotten.
Thank you also Jacqui.

I've not posted till now as I really was lost for words. Everyone on here has expressed what I wanted to say far more eloquently than I could, especially Jeane. That was beautiful. We're here for you Roger and will help anyway we can.
