As Neil Rix and Chris Precious have been stuck in a Boxing Ring together.
Are there any other Mayoral candidates to lighten our lives?

Now you're talking we have Graham Wanstall and previous favourite Roger Walkden, also talk of Gordon Cowan having a go but I doubt it as he has enough on his plate plus he has already had his turn.

#85. Obviously I was misunderstood. My post was asking links to what Mayor Rix has done to put it next to Cllr Precious, as that link was already up. It's Cllr Precious who talks a good job. Mayor Rix actually gets on with it and does it, hope that is clearer. Graham Wanstall has support from 2 Cllrs whom he has mercilessly perused till they gave in, thankfully and hopefully, hell will freeze over before he tarnishes the Mayoral chain.

Anna why don't you search the Internet and see if you can find any articles to link to, the fact that no one has yet been able to or been able to highlight any of his good works and considering he has some avid supporters on the forum, does somewhat insinuate that these deeds are perhaps lacking?

Are we forgetting the destruction of the Badger setts and ripping up all the trees and shrubs at Westmount, still going on today.

Howard. It is my understanding it has been 8 weeks from when Mr Rix stopped work at this site.
I walked past there last week and the was only a Yellow Dumper truck which I could see. Today I walked past and the said Dumper was still in the same place .
The work which they was doing was conservation work and not just ripping just any old trees out.
There has been people looking in the tunnels for BATS which Mr Rix removed some brick walls so the persons could access the tunnels.
It is may understanding the tree which was removed was just self sow and not Oaks etc. I have walked the ground with permission from Mr Rix and I was unable to find the said Badger setts which you speak off or any signs.
There are Possible Badger/Fox setts up in the woods above the site out of shot of the Camera.
If you would like to walk this site with myself I am happy to speak to the key holder and meet you to view in person.

Thanks for your offer Stu which is genuinely appreciated. I would not even know what a badger sett looked like let alone whether it was active or defunct. Expert opinion is found on the under mentioned thread and I would recommend members read posts from post 57 to 87 which are the most informative.
Going off topic I have never seen a badger in real life but I am told that one has visited my garden during the night to dig up worms and if I ever encounter the bugger I will invite Neil round to deal with it.

That made me laugh Howard as much as I like badgers they do seem partial to aerating the lawn rather than a flower bed that needs digging.

In the last few hours the machiavellian nature of Dover politics has thrown up a new favourite to be Mayor. Not been mentioned this time around but was a popular Mayor in the past. We shall know for definite in a few hours.
