Bern - post #28 - totally agree

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Roger
I do not have a crystal ball, and only know that the town councillors are in, although I wish we had been elected in, I know I was last time, but that could have changed this time, 2 candidates have never been elected which is wrong in my opinion, although seats not contested, candidates should still be voted for.

shiela,
your right i suppose but thats democracy, would have been better if the labour party had found enoug candidates to stand against the indies, had they done so labour could havre very nearly wiped out the indies altogether we few getting in
as it is there number of seats although still very low after results(5 at most, prob far less) maybe shiela you should be talking to your labour friends as to why they didnt stand candidates and gave the indies a free run

With regard to my post #23.
I had a leaflet from the Alliance the other day, John together with Pam called this evening so we had a quick chat.
John it was very nice to meet you both and hope you did not get wet, I bet the legs are aching going up and down all those house steps.

probably for the same reason the blues do not canvass( or even leaflet) my neck of the woods.
each party has only so much person power they concentrate their resources where it will gain best results.

I won;t answer for the laboutr party peter, i think they should as atrt this time it wouldnt take much to win the castle ward, with such an unpopular tory candidate.
that said you could say the same about about why dont your tory party canvass
st rads, tower hamlets, priory maxton elms vale etc etc listis endless
doesn't help you peter when you target one party when your fully aware your party isnt active in any of the wards above plusmany more.
thats probably why the national newspapers are homing in on dover predicting a labour victory.
i understand the times is in dover monday to interview the labour leader
forecasting a labour win

I really had to laugh at that one Keith, I doubt Milly would predict Tory win do you.

Not my party Keith. I am non party political but I do have a tendency to support politicians who believe in free enterprise and sound fiscal and monetary policies. Also I don't believe we should be in the EU.

Well peter now that is intersting in the past you have said what a great fan you are of the conservative party.
your starting to sound like when maggie was elected those that elected her whenever asked, said "well i didnt vote for her"
if that was correct then she wouldn't have won

Would like to see your sources there, Keith. I have always said I support candidates not parties.
I must confess I am a great fan of the Big Society ideal (for that is what it is). I laughed like helll when that Catholic archbishop said it 'lacked teeth'. Early days, how many teeth did Christianity have ten months after the Crucifixion?

Why do you say we are not canvassing the M.E.& P ward keith ?
We met Diane, Sue and Ms Revell in the Clarendon's the other day whilst canvassing and Sue up Elmsvale last week.
There stories we're getting from the people are ones of support.
May God help this District if Labour get in - we'll need it.
