My postal vote has arrived I have never heard of two of the candidates.
I can say with all honesty I have no idea if any leaflets from any party have been delivered to my house as they all go in the recycling bin as soon as they drop through my daughter's upstairs letterbox. My basement door only ever gets take-away menus.
I agree with Alexander

and also it will be a low turnout.

Perhaps there are no elections here in London. Ten days to go...and nothing about locals or referendum through the door or anywhere else.
So...
Is it;
a-yes
b-no
c-not attempted/spoiled ? [the referendum, I mean]
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Thank you Sheila and in the interest of harmony, I won't push the "can anyone believe Roger's posting" comment from Keith.
As far as I am aware, all our initial leaflets and our personal ones have been delivered to every house in the Maxton, Elmsvale and Priory Ward; if anyone has not received one, let me know and I will bring one round.
If you haven't receievd a leaflet, maybe it's because the deliverers know that you are a Labour Town Councillor and so knew they couldn't pursuade you to vote for me Sheila - that is only a maybe.

I bet none of the leaflets say"Vote for us and we will reopen the Toilets.
I'll bet they don't say "vote for me and I will spread myself too thin to be effective" either.............

nice to see you the other day, and for your feedback that labour will be winning the 3 labour seats in priory/maxton/elms vale
i thought the labour party would win 2 of the seats, but pleased if they achieve the 3rd in this marginal area. no offence to roger of course.

I can vote for three candidates but there are three Labour, one Alliance and one Independent not exactly a vast choice is there if I use all my votes.

Thank you Howard; I'll see that you and others there receive them.
I didn't know that Sheila has a crystal ball, or is there another way she knows ? Knocking on the doors doesn't suggest that at all.

Jan at least you have a choice of 3 for Town Council from 5 in some ward they will not be voting in the Town as in Elms Vale Maxton and St Rads not enough people put up to have an election
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

quite right in my ward we are left with a choice of district councillors, the townsfolk were elected unopposed.
a far as i can ascertain we have 4 carpet baggers out of the 6 that we choose from.

In Lydden we have the six parish resident councillors plus Vic and two vacancies - anyone living within 3 miles fancy giving it a go? It could be fun as one of our ex councillors who is considering standing again for one of the vacancies, genuinely, and this is no kidding, knows Rick Parfitt
For district we have the two main parties and instead of UKIP as at our last two district elections we have an independent, who is out-Viccing Vic, according to his leaflet delivered today, by opening his own office in the ward -

indeed ray,mr elks!!
stands as an independent and states that he will take a "team approach".
believes that d.d.c. are planning to fund a monorai up to the castle.
the people of lydden are safer with vic.

If Carpet-Baggers equals interlopers Howard, then yes there are two locals standing for the Conservatives, me and Mark Hemmingway, he lives in Clarendon Place, so a very local man and one who is very passionate about moving the ward forward; our other Candidate, Pat Sherratt, a local man who posts on here and lives just outside the ward, but has a very good head on him, a man who will do well for everyone - if elected of course.
Labour don't have anyone prepared to stand for them in the ward.
