that's right - it doesn't matter whether there is a similar business close by. i will be objecting on the grounds that it is a total eyesore and as the planning coves have passed stuff in the past to ensure that the quality of life in the folkestone road has reached rock bottom they actually owe us one.

# 141...spot on...
# 148 & 157.....planning committee will vote as ``guided`` by the Officers....
# 150...154...& 155.....must be a LA employee or `closet`
# 156 & 160.....``utterly irrelevant to planning considerations``............ that's the trouble.....look at # 141.......

I have no problem who works for who,
What I have a problem with is this situation is one as howard says the Folkestone road deserves better,
but more importantly either this bloke has broken rules or not
if he hasnt i think the district has a problem now planning isn't required
whole new ball game opening up

Roger, at times it must depend on the mood of those that are responsible for the decision, which depends on whether they are feeling in a positive or negative frame of mind that is unless they have preconceived views which they will not change.
I know my mood sometimes determines how I respond to a post on here.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Breaking legs now. Where does Roger say that?
This is turning in to something a bit ugly.
What is wrong with officers running the council? After all, is that not what they are there for?

Yes you are right of course Keith, no legs, it says regs! I read it incorrectly even though I haven't yet had any gin (+ min cost per unit!!!), sorry for that. And sorry again to Howard, I wasn't being mirthful this time because I wasn;t using my newly found emoticons. What I was being, is wrong and looking everso slightly like a tit!
Councillors for the most part do not have the time, experience or technical knowledge to be able to run the council. If they did there would be no need for officers. However, within the law and the bounds of what is possible, they should certainly facilitate the will of the people channelled through those elected councillors.

#133, Reg, do you not recall the unfortunate case of one Peter Moulder?

this guy has also broken another rule, it comes before planning to install a illuminated sign, this has not been done, planning has been refused on some of these signs, as regards Mr Moulder, there was a building there, before the war built out of corrungated tin, a Mr Mead lived in it, he was killed by enemy action at the end of the shelling, Mr Moulder built round what was there then removed the original, made the whole thing look better, was there when pulled down, great shame
