Simon, the doctor is not from India, his ancesters might have been, but as far as I'm aware he was born in this country here in Kent, making him British

Okay, getting back to the thread, clearly this application has breached the planning rules, whether your for or against this application(or any other application across the District) there should be some warning signs here.
If this application is now allowed through then it makes a complete mockery of the planning rules, and realy what would be the point in splashing out hard earned dosh to put in for a planning application, when you can do it without.

apparently nothing can be done unless the planning application is turned down, the applicant is not a popular man locally at the moment.
certainly timed his holiday well.

You hear about people bypassing planning rules and then applying for retrospective permissions, but in the long run it may work against them and cost a lot of money when they have to demolish everything etc etc etc
Been nice knowing you :)

Unfortunatly DDC does not have a good history of such enforcement action.
Having said that, this guy deserves not to get this application through as he has clearly breached the planning laws
if he does, there realy is no reason to put in for planning permission in the future, by anyone.
I'm interested in the reply to Rogers E Mail to the council, and how we will vote on this issue

I am in danger of showing my ignorance again here! There is a planning application, he has begun the project early. What is the difference in this and starting the project without any permission and then applying for retrospective permission? This is seems to be very normal. If you look at the planning register there are retro applications all the time, so again I say, if you want to get hot with the Dr, then you have to get hot with all the others!
I don't get the attitude towards this man bearing in mind he has spent 1.8 million pounds in providing a brand new facility for locals and at the same time tidying up a particularly scruffy bit of Folkestone Road. He needs to be congratulated I think.

Always interested to know recent examples, people always hark back to McArthur Glenn and other things that really aren't the problem of the planning debt....

DDC`s record of Enforcement is appalling......it is no deterrent to people who arrogantly flout the rules like this character.........

Excuse my ignorance but is he flouting the rules?
To me there are two issues here, is the good Dr behaving illegally and/or are DDC once again showing their incompetence.
For heavens sake, we have on this very thread a Cllr who sits on the planning committee and he doesn't seem to know whats going on!

#123 You are wrong.
#132 I can't possibly agree with you on that one Howard! Anyway, it would have been up to the planners to decide that it could be an eyesore, and they haven't have they!!!!

It looks to me like some posters are happy that these laws can be flouted,
This then would encourage people not to bother with planning applications
that realy would open the floodgates
