# 177....Enforcement is not a strong point of DDC...in fact it is appalling.
Peter Molder did not deserve the treatment and action taken against him.May be he did not have any influential connections
and was a soft target ?.......yet another cock up by DDC..........
# 183 ...totally agree ...having spent eight years as a DDC Councillor witnessed many cases highlighted by Keith.
# 184 ......``shambolic``is spot on
# 198 & # 199.........agree...

I hear that Diane Smallwood died this morning. I think she was a Councillor who did lots of work - maybe you could stand as an independent in her memory David?

We always have a problem on here about what should/shouldn't be said.
I don't want to distract away from the heading, but it should be noted as a cllr i was attacked for not posting(when in fact i was)
and the same people who attacked me as soon as they got in a postion of control immediatly stopped posting.
Anyway getting back to the thread, I can't say Iv heard of or seen cllr Jones around the ward, but i will take sheila's word
for it, but i do believe in getting local people to serve in the ward they live.
I won't comment on the spat between david and Roger.
I have shown how the planning dept works(and could give a lot more examples, but dont want to bore you all)
Often cllrs do need to stand up and be counted.
Whilst David the portacabin may be small fry to you, the implications are far bigger if this guy gets away with it.

Keith & others, I have received an email from Dover Town Council with the sad news that Diane has died today after a long battle with cancer.
Extremely nice lady who served her community with dignity.
Condolences to her equally nice husband Brian who also accompanied Diane in her community roles with quiet resolve and support and to other family members.

Oh dear, thats very sad news, I didn't know Diane well but I met her once or twice and was at school with her son.
Interesting to see that Reg, 8 years a councillor, agrees with me.
Keith, I didn't say it was small fry, you are putting words in my mouth, I said it doesn't personally affect me.
And despite what people may think, I have no personal animosity towards Roger, it is DDC's ineptitude that needs highlighting.

Dianne was a great labour cllr always stood by the party through thick and thin.
She went about her business in a very quiet way, but as mayor raised the profile of Dover.
Dianne will be sadly missed by the communities she served both in the priory. maxton, elms vale ward and the wider District.

Nothing of the sort Keith, I can understand why building a shopping centre may take some time (albeit not as long as DDC), the point being if a portacabin takes up so much time and debate what chance is there to regenerate a town.

First of all, I would like to thank those who have supported me (and DDC), I have been trying to make postings that will not incur insults from Davd L, but sadly not successful; however, hopefully this one may.
I received an email this afternoon (as Sheila has mentioned) advising that an enforcement file has been set up - reference - ENF/DOV/12/241.
But I have also been advised that it will be irresponsible of DDC's Planning department to prosecute due to the closeness (time-wise) of the application coming to the planning committee (probably January 2013).
I'm sure Dr. Premnath is aware of the financial implications if the application is refused, he is a highly educated man and doesn't lightly do things without weighing up all the angles.
