Little John the Baptist
Johnny's Mother looked out the window and noticed him "playing church" with their cat. He had the cat sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back To the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water.
She called out, " Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!"
Johnny looked up at her and said,
"He should have thought about that before he joined my church."

Don't see why it would "open the floodgates" - people try and bypass planning laws all the time, they may win but probably 99% of people and companies would not want to take the financial risk of being told to tear it down if they lose....

Still trying to get my head round this one
Planning permissin put in for
then without permission the ugly looking building erected and in use
why bother putting in for planning permission?

Thats what I said before - application submitted last month, to be decided in the next month - a financial gamble not really worth the risk

But if it's then passed
why bother with permission

Said portacabin one
to portacabin two
"The best thing to be done,
is turn you into a public-loo."
Said portacabin two
to portacabin one
"Don't you with me screw
planning matters are no fun."
"It's just a bit of give and take,
grow-up, for heaven's sake."
"As this is your own master plan,
swap your counter for a pan!"
And so the argument dragged on
as neither side would e'er agree
again intransigence had won
it was left to planners to take the pee
[I've added the word 'public' to line four.]
