Vic, you could have posted that earlier and stopped a lot of the posts, was there some reason you kept quiet.

Who is the rest of us? Vic.
If it is still on the Promenade then it is still a problem as far as I am concerned and I will keep campaigning until it is moved off.
It's cheap, tacky and wouldnt look out of place in Blackpool or Margate but not here, our Seafront is one of our best assets what sort of an idiot thinks that this is truly necessary on the promenade?
Keep moving it to the left and dump it the other side of the clock tower in the carpark!
and when I say DUMP, I mean DUMP the thing is a flaming monstrosity.

I am sorry you feel that way, but we can only work with the tools we get.

No, just get rid of it and wait until you can get something fitting in the proper place.

what's needed is a team to man the kiosk that fits the image.
i can recommend these chaps.
We are going to try out the new restaurant on the seafront soon - please tell me the kiosk won't be spoiling the view?

Have just noticed that the offending Kiosk which caused such an animated response in previous pages here has been moved. Its no longer in its controversial position by the "swimmers" but has now been relocated to the Prince of Wales pier side of the Water Sports Centre. The outcry by forumites here which was picked up by The Mercury has done the trick clearly.

i am beginning to miss it already, maybe someone would like to start a campaign to have it restored in all its glory to its original position?

So the sea view rooms of Trevor 's new hotel will now be known as Kiosk View Rooms?

not got my copy yet marek, this is what it says on kent online.
The tourism kiosk which caused controversy when it was placed in the centre of Dover seafront has been moved - but it's still on the promenade and not everyone is happy.
As the Mercury reported last month, the kiosk was placed right next to the Channel swim sculptures by tour operator Richard Mahoney, who had gathered a team of volunteers to man it.
The aim was to give out leaflets and information to tourists to encourage them to visit places of interest in the town. Mr Mahoney already operates the White Cliffs Boat Tours as well as mini-bus tours.
But the sight of the kiosk made many people see red, and they demanded that it should be moved.
On Tuesday, a crane and lorry were brought in to move it to the clock tower end of the promenade, near the canopy at the start of the King Charles II walk.
Dover Town Carnival chairman Michelle Sheppard, who called it a "monstrosity" and was willing to start a petition to get the kiosk moved, said it was still a problem all the time it was on the promenade. "I will keep campaigning until it is moved off," she said, describing it as "cheap and tacky".

Very pleased to see that this monstrosity has at last been moved away from our beautiful seaview position. It is not fit for purpose and should be moved off altogether from the seafront promenade.
