It was open today about 3.30 pm when we went past.
The trouble is it never actually looks open even when it is. The lady inside seems to keep the hatch closed all the time even when she is sitting in there.
This is in contrast to Sue the seafood stall lady who makes much more of an effort to be welcoming and accommodating - love the new tables and chairs and Caribbean style parasols she has out on sunny weekend days. Keep it up Sue!

Howard they are open when a volunteer turns up, I do not think they have set opening times. It all seems a bit hap-hazard to me.

i only noticed because the bloke in the picture whizzed past me on his bike at breakneck speed in the centre of the promenade whilst the cycle lane was empty.
when he stopped at the kiosk i thought i would take a look and see how old he was.
at least 60 probably more and rides like a 14 year old that has bunked off school.

There was someone in it a couple of weeks ago but don't I know if it was open. It seems to have become a permanent fixture.

ever the optimist is paul, at a western heights weekend last summer someone enquired at the kiosk about what the noise was up in the hills.
the answer came back "no idea"!!
Are you joking Howard? What would be the point of a tourist kiosk if they didn't know what was going on locally?!

at the end of the day they are there to promote a private business, they may have leaflets and posters but the accent is on boat tours.
i don't remember a poster for the western heights weekend paul.

But surely that is better than no promotional kiosk at all!
