it is not aesthetically pleasing, but in a great position to be seen by the greatest number of people.
looks like richard is not having a good week all round.

It will require planning permission if it is to be a permanent feature.

A caravan without wheels.
I'm not sure Ray Smith would be pleased about this juxtaposition.

Back to the town hall Vic?

Yes Vic, they have moved it but as I said before it has just been turned around to front our Vista

Millions have been spent on the new redevelopment of the seafront and the Hotel and the position of this information kiosk is clearly misplaced

Good intentions but it's an eyesore in that spot and surely would be better placed by the coach drop-off point to be effective?

i think it would be even more of an eyesore in market square that is beginning to look cluttered as it is now.
the screen takes up a large area, plant troughs and seating take up more space, the kiosk would take up too much of what's left.

Didn't make myself clear Howard, I meant the coach drop off on the seafront!

I agree totally with ColetteB.
Please move the information kiosk away from our swimmers and the lovely tree-lined approach from Cambridge Terrace to the promenade.
Ray's suggestion of placing it near the coach drop-off point near the toilets on the seafront sounds ideal!

checked it out ray, no space for it near the coach drop off.
could go on the promenade as sue has said, but then it would mean that anyone coming from the eastern docks would not be aware of it.
Frankly, just shift it! I am with Colette and Sue. "Eyesore" lets it off the hook somewhat!

how about this as a compromise?

I'm 100 per cent with Colette on this, whilst visiting some clients today, I checked out said kiosk for myself. I'm all for local businesses trying to bring in more tourists adding to increased footfall and spend for the town. But to place it there! blocking the most pleasant view out to sea is utter Madness, Bonkers or in Bern's poetic prose ..... Shift it!

I had a walk along there on Saturday and it really is the wrong thing in the wrong place and lets the seafront down. I applaud what they are trying to do but it does not belong there at all.....

As I understand the planning exemption enjoyed by DHB, it only extends to port operational areas; the seafront and other property they own is not covered by it.
