Dog Poo does nothing in Folkestone-these enforcement folk dish out £80-00 fines for dropping a cigarette end.
Never give up...

my understanding is that they will only patrol the central area, working on commission it would be a wise thing.

It comes down whether they are there to improve the environment , if they are they will look at the East end of the seafront, if it is a money making venture they will go where the easy pickings are.

Post 42 is wrong you must get it right and find out before posting and not just say what comes into your head. I have been at a meeting tonight just about what the offices will and will not do,they will be going around the whole of the district and where they are asked to go,it will not be a 9to5 job, they will or are going to be out at all hours if finds are not paid within 14 working days they will face going to court with more cost put on their finds,so please get it right.

Agreed Helen.
I would like to make these inconsiderate dog owners walk through a runny poo in their best shoes then straight into their homes preferably walking over a light colour carpet, that might work better than any fine.

That's right Vic.
The Environmental Enforcement Officers will start going out from 07.00 to 19.00, but it may well be determined that it needs to be earlier.
Fines will only be issued to people of 18 years and older.
The public can advise of problem areas and encouraged to advise when and where they are.
We all want a cleaner Town - cleaner from litter and dog-poo, so when this starts in Feb. lets help them.

I would have thought there are more people around between 19.00 and 23.00 than before 07.00 so later rather than earlier might be needed.

they will probably go to outlying areas once in a while to show their faces but they will be successful only in heavily populated during shopping/pub hours.

Again the above post could not be more wrong, said this to you before you do not know anything about it or the make up etc, they will be told what areas to go to, if they are told to go around River for two hrs then that is what they will do.Get the facts right before you post.

the mind boggles at the thought of people working on commission shooting themselves in the foot. went through temple ewell and lydden today didn't see a soul, 1 shop between the two of them and a few pubs that are highly unlikely to have clientele that break glasses or throw cigarette ends on the ground. they would get more revenue selling the "big issue" there.

here we have a jolly folkestone enforcement officer on duty today, took time off cracking walnuts with his eyelids to chat. he informs me that his much bigger but slightly deranged brother will be starting in dover soon, is having his teeth sharpened specially.

The fellow on the left is attired as the chap in #51. There has been a great deal of trouble in LB Newham, where the council has it's own 'constabulary' the uniform of which closely resembles that of real warranted policemen. In addition to this, some of these uniforms have been stolen and used by criminals, and soon to be criminals, to collect 'fines' illegally. I say "soon to be criminals" as a number of council employees are currently awaiting trial in connection with this fraud.

What sort of checks are made on these enforcement "officers" do they have to be free of criminal convictions as you would expect from someone who is in the High Streets in uniform issuing fines, surely the Local Councils should insist that they are?

""At the request of the local authority, we will take a zero-tolerance approach to litter, issuing tickets for a wide range of offences.""
"... issuing fines to those who drop litter or fail to clean up dog mess."
Wide range of offences, and dog mess and litter. And no mention of the "up to £80"
Ignorance is no defence. So empty those coin jars and piggy banks.
