Any improvement on the two party system would be of benefit to the country as a whole

Barry,
I wonder if we will see the 'progressive majority' form between the Greens, Lib-Dems and Labour to oppose the Tory excesses. There will need to be a lot of bridge building and maturity on the part of all players so it is probably unlikely. It is something to hang on to because, if this were to happen, perhaps it would get electoral reform back on the agenda.
Most commentators believe it was a mistake to hold the referendum on the same day as the elections as priority was always going to be given to winning seats.
When you consider the potentially ground breaking and historic nature of political reform the paucity of debate and the outright lies by most players was shameful.
We deserve better.

looks like it will be long and drawn out, two wards in deal and the one in shepherdswell could go either way as things stand.

I feel that it is unlikely Mark, also would the Labour party want to work with the Lib Dems now that they seem to have been made the scapegoat for the coalitions failings.
I think that it will be a long time before electoral reform will be brought back on the agenda, my personal feeling is that the AV vote should never had been tied in with local elections 'apathy rules okay' if you know what I mean

getting interesting now even without vic.
the marginal middle deal ward has seen 2 blue seats fall to the reds with the other having a recount.
Blimey!

the recount in midle deal went the way of the blues and predictably the blues held both river seats.

no change at the fiercely fought maxton elms vale and priory ward.
2 new reds in sue jones and diane smallwood and 1 long serving blue in forum stalwart roger walkden.
the reds hold their one seat at town and pier.
by my rough calculations the blues should be just about victorious overall.

Must have been Jim Hood, Brian. He was the only red standing.
