Howard, the Port Community Forum does not receive funds from the port. That falls to the Port Community Fund, which has a panel of 5 independent people who decide who is awarded what from a fund which is administered by the Kent Community Foundation. There is an ongoing commitment from the port to add a minimum of £100,000 endowment to the fund per annum and this will continue, it is not adversely impacted by the license application (which ever way the MMO decide). The total amount of financial support provided by the Port Community since 2014 is £256,000, with 36 grant awards made to 30 different local organisations.
Currently, the commitment is what it is and will not be changed substantially one way or the other over the coming months.

Indeed Brian, the link that i posted is a close up of our area from that map. Even on the scale that you show, it is clear that the area covered by license application is not within any MPA.

Brian, the area covered by the license application is not within a 'no fish' or Marine Protection Area. The maps show this to be the case.

The glossy paper propaganda leaflet from DHB was delivered today by my nice postlady. What a waste of money after a quick glance it went straight into the recycling bin.

The D.H.B MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH USING THE SAND ,they have done it in the pass and if they get away with it again ,there will a time they will do it again. The sands are a war grave just like any other war graves and they must be treated the same look after them.
We all know the D.H.B. have got away with it in the pass that is why there must be a stop to it.
And the wild life it is their home to them just like our homes and must be left in peace to bring up their young .

Just had a thought, where did the sand and material come from when the Camber was filled in, back in the 80's. Did it come from away or was that local?

I agree Vic, I don't believe that they should. It's just puzzling why there is an outcry about it now, but not back then (or was there?). I really have no idea how much they need (in CM), but is it a lot more then?

You are right sir I was a cllr then and I should have done more so hold my hands up to that. But the time has come to try and stop it ,I have alot more the public saying it now + a very good group who is doing more then I have ever done in the pass. And again it is more over two millions tons I am told but even if it is less then before it is not right for them to take away from a war grave which holds a lot of men and crew of ships in war and pace time.
