I bet the S.O.S campaigners (including conservative Cllr callum) must be so dejected at this time

Update
Dear Goodwin Sands SOS supporter,
Fundraising
Although we have reached our initial fund raising target, we have an ambitious plan to raise £11,000 by 11am on 11th November in respect of all those Airmen whose graves lie in the Goodwin Sands and who gave their lives so bravely and willingly so that we could be free.
The donation link on our website is here:

Judicial Review
As you know, our claim for a Judicial Review was lodged at the High Court a fortnight ago. Last week, a copy of the papers was sent to both the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and to Dover Harbour Board as an interested party. The MMO has 21 days to respond with a counter claim which will also be lodged at the High Court. The Court will then make a decision, we expect either before Christmas or in the New Year, whether to grant us a Judicial Review. We are confident and hopeful that we have a good legal case and that the decision will be in our favour.
Whilst you lay your wreath or observe your two minute silence on Sunday, please also remember those young airmen who died on the Sands during WWII and whose final resting places are at risk from desecration from dredging by Dover Harbour Board.

Thank you!
Joanna and Fiona

The bodies are no more likely to lie on the Goodwin Sands than anywhere else in the Channel.
It's not some weird local version of the Bermuda Triangle!

Deal Town Council have already turned this down.
Why the hell Walmer think they should fund mad local pressure groups with money they have taken from local tax payers heaven knows.

I disagree. They have gone well beyond their remit.
They are meant to take our money and provide us services such as toilets, allotments, markets and flower displays.
They are not meant to take our money and give it to some local cause (and while I stand tp be corrected I don't think this group is a registered charity) which does absolutely nothing for local people.

That's the Tories for you bob, their answer to everything is throw money at it, you made a good decision to kick them into touch.

I guess the £400 will line some solicitor's pocket, obviously Walmer has money to spare or should that be waste.

Breaking News.
The legal team for the Goodwin Sands SOS group have today won a judicial review which will start in June, should be some long faces in Harbour House.

Good news. At least it gives another chance for a wider perspective based on different values to prevail. I hear the distant sound of little feet stamping in anger, high pressure steam being emitted and mutterings of "Cassandra, Cassandra".

By the time this is all sorted I suspect the DHB project will already be finished.

Perhaps re-submit the case on the basis that The Honourable Sir Duncan Ouseley, given that he retired on 17 May, was impersonating a judge!

The independent regulator makes a decision. An independent judicial review confirms it as soundly based. So what happens next - we don't like the outcome so we fight on. [Sigh.]

I suspect we're in for more crowd-funding coming up from this self-appointed publicity-seeking bunch of lunatic luddites to add to the delay and expense of the Harbour Board's port development.

Phew! I guess that lets us shy, self-effacing, rational luddites off the hook.

That sounds rather familiar...............Oh! Just like Brexit and the remoaners and the referendum outcome, sorry could not resist the comparison.
Surely if they take some sand now it will not be anywhere near the amount that was originally proposed so no or little problem.
