Whichever side of the fence people sit on that is an excellent letter by Nicola.

Post 290: Cambridge Terrace could be next in line for destruction. Could be. But it would make the planning application somewhat superfluous. So perhaps an ill-informed depiction then - like Mr Goldfield selling land in the Western Docks to Motis.

Er, the one on the DDC website? Sorry about the land, you didn't mention it that's true now that I look again, but neither were DHB's Freight Operations sold to Motis so far as I'm aware.

I am intrigued as to what is planned in secret for Cambridge Terrace.

Also they keep on about the jobs that could be lost if they cannot use the sand,I would like to know what the 200 jobs would be are they skilled ones or sem-skilled ones and what trade would they be in.I do not think they know if indeed there are going to be any jobs at all.
And where does our MP stand on this or like other times he is standing on the fence waiting to see who wins then he will be out for a photo of himself for the papers.

Initially Charlie backed the petitioners then went quiet for a while and the most recent thing I read was that he found the situation concerning which in Charlie speak means he is waiting to see which way the wind blows.

I expect that our (sic) Charlie, having little expertise in large Civil Engineering projects (even one as simple as pile, fill and cover), especially when related to hydrographic surveys and project management (the latter being where DHB seems to be having problems), is awaiting the report from the MMO, the licensing body.
A pity others don't do likewise, but refusing to listen to 'experts', or even to wait for their judgement, seems quite fashionable nowadays!

Christine.a: I do apologise regarding Cambridge Terrace; I am convinced that last night on my Kindle I found an application dated August (whilst looking for Dickens Corner) for a change of use from offices to 20-odd dwellings, complete with Heritage Statement and various other documents that I didn't read; however, I cannot find it again today.
As regards Motis, your link shows no sale to them (and indeed I believe them to be a tenant) and doesn't seem particularly secret.

Button,
Never apologise for starting a rumour to get fellow citizens all wound up over nothing. This is indeed one of the aims and objects of the Forum.
(Just between you and I it is a fact that anyone in the land is allowed to apply for planning permission on property even if they don't own it!
I'm off to DDC to apply for outline planning permission to turn the Regent in Deal into a mosque! That should get them going?)

Thank you Captain, but I've reached the age where I'm always on the lookout for marble loss. I have in fact discovered that Kindle keeps a history of sites visited and this seems to confirm I saw application 17/00963 to change the use to 25no dwellings - not that I can find this on the DDC site.

Not heard much from the Port and Community Forum in recent times, if DHB don't get their way I doubt they will get any more funding to give to local organisations.
