As I mentioned earlier my jab at Debenhams took just over an hour. Maureen went yesterday at a similar time and was in and out in 20 minutes including "resting" afterwards.

A week since I received my letter and still no news from my GP, so still waiting patiently to hear.
Good news this morning on BBC news we are bottom of the Kent table for Covid cases, I think they said only 117 new ones.

My father went for his in Folky Debenhams on Sunday. A very positive report back, in and out within 20 minutes. Well done to all.

I note that we now have a South African variation as well as the Kent (or British if you watch French TV as I do) yet nobody refers to the virus which caused it all as CHINESE!
Now what's that all about?

My parents are being “done” today at Debenhams with the Oxford vaccine.
Are people being sent to Folkestone because they can do more there?

Was talking to an old work colleague today. Both he and his partner have now had the first vaccination.
No side effects whatsoever and they now have excellent 5G reception on their home Wi-Fi.

So why was the roll out of vaccines so slow locally?
A very well placed source tells me that it was because local surgeries did not think the payment offered for vaccinations by the local CCG (£12.58 per Covid vaccination jab administered – but would only receive payment after the second of two doses) was enough.
I'd have though getting the practice nurse to jab a queue of punters at £12.58 a pop would be a nice little earner?

If that's true, then I don't think all practices thought the same way (though I do get confused about which CCG covers which practices).

FWIW two of my brothers (in their sixties) have been given dates next week for their vaccinations in Devon.

I spoke to my surgery in Dover today, on a non COVID matter, and whilst on the call, just asked how I will be contacted for my vaccine (I'm category 6 just announced this week as eligible).
The response was "we haven't finished on categories 3 and 4 yet"! Yet my work colleague in the same category but a different Dover surgery, got a text yesterday, clicked on the link and could have chosen anytime this week at the Dover Health Centre!
I suppose it depends on how good your surgery is in Dover as to how quickly they will get you sorted, but my money is on post #215.

Still low but the Dover area (73.6 per 100,000 reported by the BBC yesterday) has crept up a little bit, along with Thanet, over the last couple of days. Let's hope it's a blip that will reverse and start to drop down again and that it's not a new Kent variant, that would be just typical!
Before going to work, I have been going for my exercise walking along the seafront in the sunrise hours and since the weather has improved, there are more and more people appearing at that time and many of them are becoming quite relaxed with their social distancing, so time will tell.....

Anyone who might be interested I found Horizon on BBC2 last night very informative.
