I think it's worth keeping an eye on the progress of Covid in Dover (and our efforts to stop it).

251.5/1000 and rising. Now above the national average.
Was 5/100,000 in early October.

We will get dragged into national tier 2 or 3 if it continues bring ignored by some
Some still don't recognise there's a serious problem of people dieing at mo .
Until , or if they do it won't get any better any many more will die
In different circumstances it would be classed as murder

Yes 251.5/100,000 of course.
In danger of tipping into dangerous territory.

Maybe manslaughter rather than murder.
Otherwise I agree far to many still do not realise that their insular actions are responsible for this present increase. Until a relative or really close friend is struck down they will not change their selfish ways.

Wouldn't you agree that proportion, not fear, is the proper response, individually and governmentally?
In October 2020 43,265 people died in England; and 93.1% of those died
due to causes other than covid-19. It wasn't even the highest cause of death.

And who exactly are you accusing of murder, and on what evidential basis? Would you class this as murder, or 'manslaughter'?

'Cases', now topsy turvily redefined as 'positive tests', are an unreliable measure, but very handy for scaremongering. Much better to look at hospitalizations and deaths (but, even then, with some circumspection).

Oh! The joy of statistics so easy to show figures that promote a viewpoint or argument.
I am sure, if I could be bothered, I could find figures to show many of those deaths, heart and cancer etc even suicides could have been avoided if the NHS had not previously had to stop or delay treatment because the medics had to be diverted to treat all those made seriously ill by covid.
Swale now has the highest positive figures which is far to near this area for my liking, but I am now scaremongering according to WGS, even though someone I know has recently had to take a test which I sincerely hope is negative.

We will soon see if Thanet, Swale and Medway have dragged the rest of kent down into Tier 3.

Interesting. So Dover East is right down there with the worst areas.
Where is it exactly?

The town centre up to Lorne Road, then out to Guston and West Langdon

So, after 'lockdown', 'lockdown'. Proof this dead horse has been flogged long enough.

Rebel Green? Doubt it; he's comfy. But clearly considerable itchiness on the Tory benches (figuratively speaking, as not many of them even bother to turn up to sit down for work anymore).
Still the government can always rely on the officially useless 'opposition' to push us further down utopia road.
