Sssssssh, or some wag with military experience of jabs may suggest that one refillable needle per regiment/ flight that I remember, could be extended for use on the general public!
Perhaps a more imaginative way of disposing of them could produce a few more attractions around the U.K.
This one must have had more than one coat of Snowcem!

I'm obviously much younger than most on here, and good luck to those of you that have been lucky enough to get an invite.
On another matter, when I was shopping in Morrisons yesterday evening, there wasn't one customer without a mask. As well as that, all the staff on the shop floor (not protected by a perspex screen) were also wearing masks.
Only taken nearly a year for people to get it......

MY daughter works in Morrisons, ever since mask wearing was introduced a long time ago during the first lockdown, company policy was to wear a mask or a visor when on the shop floor. She now wears hers for her whole shift ever since when during the summer a colleague caught Covid from some unknown source.

It’s good to see that more people are taking the Covid pandemic more seriously and being more careful AndyPol.
Age, since the virus raised its ugly head, has certainly featured uppermost in more of the populations minds as they await their turn for the vaccination!
This quote is something that I still find relevant in having a positive outlook on life though:
Growing old is only a case of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter!

I received a letter from the NHS this morning inviting me to make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine. I logged in and found that my nearest location is Debenhams in Folkestone. I live in Whitfield and would have thought that the Dover Health Centre would have been my nearest location. Does anyone know if the Health Centre is being used. I am 86.

Lots of people from Dover and Deal areas saying the same thing. I wonder if the vax staff have been taken from Dover to create this 'mass' centre in Folkestone?

How silly when we have the Health Centre, as bad as expecting Deal and Sandwich people to come to Dover, at least they now have a Deal surgery. Folkestone would mean either a very expensive taxi ride or hoping I can get a time when a family member can take me.

My son's father in law (80+) had his jab at the Health Centre on Sunday. Apparently it was efficient and well managed. I believe it all depends on which surgery you go Alec.

There was an article on radio Lincolnshire in the last couple of days, that was explaining the system shows the nearest available vaccine centre with availability, it suggested that you should check back every few hours as it is regularly updated, as slots become available, vaccines are secured etc. They interviewed someone who was shown availability for a centre 200 mlies away but when they checked again they had a slot in the same town.
Probably lots of vacancy at folkestone as it only opened today.
Dover Health centre is definitely open and providing vaccines, keep trying and good luck.

its becoming a farce, the nearst place to be fair to alec would be whitfield hall, instead of troting all the way to the heath center or canterbury.

If you go to have the vaccine as I did at Debenhams the work that goes into making everything safe. The number Of Marshall’s and most importantly the NHS Staff. Depending on the vaccine it has to be stored at the right temperature. It is not feasible to have it in small halls .I know some who are going to Dover Health Centre .I hope Alec you get one in Dover.

Booked my vaccine online this morning . No letter received. Offered Debenhams or pharmacy in Deal ( which I accepted). Simple process. Plenty of spaces for those eligible.
