Over threads the nature and number of houses to be built by the conservative led council has maybe been a little confused,
Figures have been put about of differing numbers, but looking at the councils own stratergies it plans to build 14,000 houses
9,700 in Dover (70%)
1,600 in Deal (10%)
500 in Sandwich (5%)
1,000 in Aylsham (7%)
1,200 in rurals (8%)
Im not saying this is wrong, but worth maybe a debate

I do hope Alexander opposes any plans to build at Westmount due to the increase of traffic....

Funny Howard that Pfizer moved from Sandwich (in Dover District) to countries with a much lower wage, even though they had full employment running for people from both Dover District and Thanet.
Rather detracts from your theory about Dover having a too small population for a big company, n'est-ce pas?

Never mind some local factories that employ mostly non-British people.
And never mind the job-centre in Dover being constantly packed full with people signing on.

They have to sign on to get their money Alexander, but many of them (NOT all) will never get a job - judging by the way they look/dress and speak.

It only took 5 postings to turn the thread from proposed house building to an attack on the jobless, from a socialist's posting to a Tories. I once sat on a Whitfield Parish Council meeting where proposed house building in Whitfield was discussed, only one of the councillors present lived in a house that was not built on a previous greenfield site i.e. in the previous 30 years.

Plans to build 14000 homes are a nonsense, that means an extra 40000 people which our economy simply cant support

The constant posting of "non-British people" is starting to get rather racist in my opinion ......

Surely the homes to be built would in the main be private and therefore would house those who would be beneficial to our economy and not need supporting. A suitable 106 agreement would ensure the provision of the necessary infrastructure. As has previously been stated, permission has been granted for the provision of a possible homes, so remember this is Dover District where what is promised is very rarely delivered. I start off by offering the DTIZ has an example.
