Going through Capel a few minutes ago the A20 above had trucks standing still waiting to get to the port. Is this Stack or the TAP system?

My wife, coming back from Canterbury, met a huge tailback at the Lydden traffic lights. She diverted down through Lydden only to get stuck in Temple Ewell. The reason, bloody minded motorists clogging up the mini roundabout at the bottom of Whitfield Hill by not giving way to people coming into Dover.

Saw the lorry at the Whitfield roundabout - not surprised he was drink-driving!
Doesn't really explain the traffic down into town,
I suspect the never-ending roadworks on Barton Road had something to with it. How long does it take to widen a path?
Those workers can't be on a performance bonus.
Why is Barton Road being narrowed for a wider foot/cycle path when there's the river walk a few yards away?

The answer is quite simple Karlos, some desk bound idiot thought it would be a good idea.
Not sure if this is KCC or Whitehall jobsworths who are to blame but this is a prime example of tax payers money being wasted.

I think a few heads need knocking together .I stood at the bus stop in River for over forty minutes waiting for a bus to Canterbury .I had to go home as I got wet through I was due to meet my son in Canterbury so he came to fetch me .We then could not get out at Kearsney traffic back to the other side of the Abbey we went via Temple Ewell then could not get out onto the London Road as no one would give way ;
Too many cars and Lorries using the Alkham Valley and too many lorries using Whitfield Hill.
My daughter in law took an hour to get into Dover from River due to the road works in Barton Road .
Why did they need to put this Cycle Path in .Waste of money .I have left a message on Nigel Collors phone.
I stood at the bus stop with a lady and her small daughter waiting to get to Whitfield .She had picked up her daughter from River school. Like me got soaked.
Back to the drawing board .The Road net work around Dover needs sorting.

I remember this being discussed a year or more ago, something to do with connecting the cycle path that's mainly on the Roman Road from Canterbury (National Cycle Route 16) to the Dour Greenway.
Graham Morris made some strong criticisms about it at the time, the best one was winkling out of KCC that there is no standard for shared cycle/pedestrian paths so they use the standard for bridleways instead.

Today I shall be emailing people in authority .The grid lock in Dover is not a one off its a weekly occurrence. To think our Health facility is situated in Coombe Valley?
