I also got up and had my say about the locals in May.

16:5291008Just afew Benefits of leaving the EU now.
Spend the £30million a day that we pay the EU out of our taxes_on new hospitals and shools and higher pensions.
Thousands of jobs would be created when we regain our fishing waters, and fish would be cheaper.
Withdraw from all EU Treaties and keep full control of our courts and our armed forces.
Without Brussels red tape,British business would boom and create more jobs.
We could stop unlimited EU immigration and make it easier to deport foreign crimminals.
You can help to bring this about by joining up today to UKIP there is a freephone 0800 587 6 587 or log into
WWW.UKIP.ORG or just email me thank you for your time in reading this Vic MATCHAM

19:5791049You didn't mention Human Rights Vic.
I agree with all of those points, but I'm still staying with the Conservatives.

20:3191059With the localism bill under construction, the Tories made hay while the sun was shining.
It seems that it also promises local participation of the people in decisions, which will mean the use of a referendum on important local issues.
Lately I've been really glad to see how the Government and local authorities have been managing fundamentally important innovations.
As for the EU issues, I think just about everyone knows them from back to front and upside down. I have been a member of the Daily Express blog since early 2010, and just about everyone on that blog is for Britain leavingthe EU. So nothing new there!

21:1091063hardly surprising for daily express readers alex, anything connected with those awful foreigners will get them foaming at the mouth.
on any given day the lead story will be about some somalian refugees being housed in posh barry's country retreat or a german mep that eats babies.

08:4191114And what's wrong with bringing those anomolies to our notice ?
Is it wrong to tell us that crimes are going unpunished - yobs beating up people and getting suspended sentences and in other cases, minor offences are getting custodial sentences - total inconsistency in our judiical system.
Is it wrong to tell us about benefit cheats getting away with thousands and just getting community service, where there doesn't seem to be any element of punishment at all.
Is it wrong to tell us about illegal immigrants cheating our system when they shouldn't be here in the first place; living in homes worth millions and us footing the bill for their luxurious accommodation.
Why shouldn't we know about it; why shouldn't it be exposed ? Why should we be scared to discuss it ?

10:5991133the problem is when it becomes an obssession.
no matter what the issues of the day are, the paper so often leads with a story about a failed asylum seeker or a bureaucrat in brussels.

07:5491248I don't think it is an obsession Howard at all, I very much hope it shows how the Country is changing - for the worse; if no one showed it, the majority would not know about many of the things that go on if they are not published and complained about.
While the good people do nothing, the bad people (and bad laws), win.

18:5793359I reckon in Romney Marsh people summed up, and decided that the localism bill which the Tories are working on is a better policy - and an innovative solution - than not proposing any local policy.
I'm pretty convinced that Gov. is strugling on the right track.
