re post 1318
pat is a member and used to post some very good stuff.
i am at a loss as to why he ducked out well before the election and lost an opportunity to put his case across.
gordon did and the result speaks for itself.

19:2188352give him a chance vic, the man must be working 24/7 to use the modern day parlance.
better that he posts something very good when he is not so strapped for time, rather than being coerced into posting for the sake of it.

10:3389755We are making big headways in Dover, Folkestone, Deal. and we will see that come to the front in May at the locals.I can tell you that Cllr David Hannent of the Town council is not standing again for the town council seat again in May,but is standing for the Blues up at Whitfield for the D.D.C.

10:4789759Yes I know, but it is 100% that he is standing at Whitfield in May,and that is from within the party themselfs. But let me tell you it will not be a walk over for him or the blues this time round.

19:0989841It will be interesting to see how the Tories do in Whitfield in May: Charlie MP of the Conservative Party has been - and is - for one very important local issue in Whitfield to be dealt with in one way, while the Conservative Councillors of DDC are for the same issue to be dealt with in the diametric opposite way!
The fact is, in Whitfield the people all know this, and because it will be local issues in the May election, the Tory candidates for DDC might experience some problems convincing the would-be Tory voters, as Charlie in person does not agree with DDC on this (very important) issue.

19:5889844we will all watch that one closely, charlie has thrown his lot in with the whitfield action group against the proposed actions of the district council.
could well be a highly charged campaign.
the yellow will be rubbing their hands with glee.

21:5289867That's right, Howard. Since becoming MP, Charlie has publicly stated that he is active trying to stop the bulldozers up at Whitfield! Mu full support for Charlie on this issue!

09:5889882usually the tories would romp this seat
and the 2 lib dems only 2 left on the council woud have been long gone
but the lib dems will im sure fight this seat on the ines of our charlie and the divisions between him and the local tory party.
probably wil be enough to keep SECRET SEAT David and the tories out

11:4889890Spot on, Keith! A credible candidate standing in Whitfield with that strategy could obtain a large success there, even an independent candidate.
It would be important for the candidate to tell the people there that he/she is for local economic regeneration in Dover and District, agrees with the basics of the localism plans of the Kent authorities, but has the same views as Charlie on preserving local green areas for the local people.

with regard to your last posting
UKIP has yet to be a winning team
beating a beat up already lib dem candidate
and coming behind an unknown tory
in the KCC elections is hardly a winning team

09:5289956believe me vic im in the real world
money doesn';t buy everything, and if some donors are moving towards UKIP good
with regard to the national scene they are a ong way from any breakthrough.
and here localy i have pointed out there shortcomings
