This is U.K.I.P. POLICIES IN BRIEF for 2009
(1) U.K.I.P. will leave the political E.U.and trade globally and freely.We will re-embrace today,s fast-growing Commonwealth and we will encourage U.K. manufacturing so that we make things again.
(2)We will freeze immigration for five years,speed up deportation of up to a million illegal immigrants by triping the numbers engaged in deportations ,and have "No home No Visa"work permits to ease the housing crisis.
(3)We will have a grammar school in every town.We will restore standards of education and improve skills training.Student grants will replace student loans.
(4)We will radically reform the working of the N.H.S. with an insurance fund,whilst upholding the "free at the point of care principles.We will bring back matrons and have locally run,clean hospitals.
(5)We will gave people the vote on policing priorities,go back to proper beat policing and scrap the human rights act.We will have sentences that mean what they say.
(6)We will take 4.5 millionpeople out of tax with a simple flat tax(with National Iinsurance)starting at £10.000.We will scrap inheritance Tax,not just reform it and cut corporation taxes.
(7)We will say no to green taxes and wind farms,To avert a major energy crisis, we will go for new nuclear power plants on the same existing site facilities and for clean coal.We will reduce pollution and encourage recycling.
(8)We will make welfare simpler and fairer,introduce"workfare"to get people back to work,and a new citizens pension and private pensions scheme insurance.
(9)Wewill support our armed forces with more spending on equipment,military homes and medical care.We will save our threatened warships and add 25.000 more troops.
(10)We will be fair to England with an English parliament of English M.P.S.at Westminster.We will replace assembly members like MSPs with MPs.And we will promote referenda at local and national levels.
(11)We will make customer satisfaction number one for rail firms-not cost cutting and will look seriously at reopening some rial lines that Beeching closed .We will make foreign lorries pay for British roads with a"Britdisc"and we will stop persecuting motorists.
(12)Last but neverleast,we will bring in fair prices and fair competion for our suffering farmers,and restore traditional British fishing and territorial waters.
So there you have it,as I said before U.K.I.P.stands for more then just geting out of the E.U.

(as Roger says there..a wish list) I havent the time to go through it all but would love to..but lets take item 1..re-engage with the Commonwealth. I mean.. in this day and age the Commonwealth is not the thing. What the heck is the point of turning your back on Europe our near neighbours where all our trading is done, and re-engaging with Africa basically. Its retrograde thinking in my view.
The immigration stuff in item 2 is just a wish list item. Most of this isnt do-able without a complete halt to hospitals, restaurants, hotels, travel...the list goes on. Take a trip to London and see how the machinery works day to day and who runs it...immigrants.
UKIP exists purely for disillusioned Tories and you can see that here. 1; I think we should work with what we have and get them to modernise, not
sure pulling out will work, or cost us dear
2;dont share this view, mAny qualified persons from abroad should be welcomed
3; Not sure I share the concept of a grammar in every town, what happens to
other schools, apart from that grammars need re vamping so a fair imput can
take place
4; No Idea how this would work, or could be afforded more detail required
5;people already have the right to vote(or voice) on police pririties(they are at
present public priorities not police)
Human rights is not all bad so cant share scrapping it the minimum wage
part of human rights, plus many other rights to help people who
wouldnt usually get help
6; whilst sounds wonderful what will that cost, and who pays
7;a lot of this , clean coal? wind farms UKIP oppose them? what will happen to
the present ones?
8;cant see owt new there, but as iv posted before on welfare, no party has yet
been braVE enoiugh to take on the work shy
9; again applaudable, costings? how paid for
10; what happens to the other mp's that are not English?
11; not enough detail on how or cost or whether UKIP supports a private
railway
12; again applaudable more detail required

just glanced casually and noticed point no.6. barry tried to swing that on us a year or two back.
he was more generous though, suggested £.12000.
what UKIP is saying that they will rob the working poor to give to the rich.
any person earning 10 grand with a small family to support would be eligible for tax credits amounting to something like £.5000 approx.
will study the rest and comment again.

for example, would it mean that people of ample means would be able to pay a premium in order to get precedence over those who cannot afford it?
no. 5 just seems a sound bite, the police already pretend to be acting on the wishes of the public, we get this stuff through the door saying things like "you asked us to make a priority of etc". - Brian Dixon

1,what commonwealth,its now only a club.
