I believe that the answer to Mark's question to Vic is that many UK voters were increasingly disenchanted with no representation over immigration; given that tackling immigration is seen as an ultra right-wing issue, many of those who voted BNP found UKIP not right-wing enough for them.
I'm hopeful that immigration will become an issue that will be addressed by the new coalition. If it isn't, support for BNP and UKIP will not diminish.
True friends stab you in the front.

Andy, those up high making decisions run after other women!
They don't like our females, so they call us neandertals!

There has been some very good posts on this blog of late and I have not taken part in any of them,so thank you for that and with it still geting alot of you writing and looking in,it will carry on for some time yet even up to the next election which i think will be within the next year or less,if that does happen I would like UKIP to take part again but I do think it is time for me to take a back seat now I have done my best but that has not worked so we need a younger person to stand next time for UKIP in Dover, and also need more helpers and supporters and funding, without that i feel this could be the end of the line, but we have a meeting today so we will have to see what happens.

Just to let you know we will still keep going in Dover,we are at this time just having a rest and it is time for thinking and looking for how we will go forward. We have been told by the public that we done well in Dover, but we do not see it that way ourselfs but we can and will build on where we stand today,I am trying to get members to stand at the locals in May,we do need more members so if you think the UKIP way please come and join up with us by just emailing me.If you would like to stand in a ward at the next locals we can help you to do just that, there will be no party lines which you would have to follow, all we would do is help you in anyway we can, you will be your own person. Thank you. Vic M

Vic, what is a ward?
As for the UKIP prospects, a lot depends on people understanding that it is the most Europe-friendly party of all British and European parties. It considers reality instead of creating myths! Hence, reality in Europe is a lot different to the myth-creating image that many people have of the continent that faces us across the sea. Keep it up Vic!

Well done Vic, and let's see UKIP making further progress!

Despite our Vic's valiant efforts UKIP won't make further progress. That particular dog has had its day I'm afraid.

I agree with Sid there, in fact Ive just posted similar in Barrys Blog this very minute. There is no sign at all that any of the main parties are showing an appetite for withdrawal...not in a million years, not an inkling, they are our huge trading partners and too many jobs depend on it, so Im afraid to say there is very little life left in the UKIP armory at this time...especially after their general showing in the very recent election. That was their breakthrough opportunity...it didnt happen.

It is true that UKIP stopped the Conservatives getting an overall majority, but I don't think that means they are on the up, it just means that they stopped a Conservative only government.

Well UKIP was at the Dover Harbour board meeting last night, but our new MP was not ,he went to all the meetings before and telling us all how he and his party was against the sell of the port, and yet at the very first public meeting with the DHB after the Gen Election, he was not there to tell us and the DHB that he and his party still feel the same about it.I said this before that both partys will agree with the sell of the port after the election, with the sell going ahead now still, again it looks like we at UKIP was right.

Vic - he clearly had demands on his time in Westminster. The political situation means that MPs will be more tied to parliament than normal.

There was no night siting last night,I have already looked into that,if he and his family are well, then he should have been there,it was one of the major issues at the Gen election in Dover and he needed to show support of that at the meeting last night.

Vic - you have been corrected on your other thread about this. Why have the same point going over and over again on two threads?
By the way, I said nothing about night sittings at all.
There are more important things to do in Westminster than to sit in on a DHB PR exercise.
