What an excellent day! Met Lord P at The Ramada at 9.15 this morning and had a very full morning with visits to the Town Hall, Dover College the UKIP stall outside St Mary's Church and then ending at the Sea Sports Centre where all the UKIP candidates for Kent had gathered. We had journos from Meridian & BBC South East Today, Dover Express, KM (& KMFM), KoS Media and a couple more, Phil Meggett providing the pics, all coupled with decent weather and a great response from people we met in the street......
Lord P seems a genuinely nice guy and it was a privilege to be his escort for this morning. Sadly we had to curtail the afternoon events because he is due in Manchester for a spot of commentary on the Brown/Cameron/Clegg debate tonight and he couldn't fly because of the volcanic ash closing the airspace, so he had to go by car to London and then get a train. A good crowd in the Sea Sports Centre (has to be said, ripped off by appalling value for money from Jasin's Restaurant) too; all in all a really pleasant day. Many thanks to all who contributed, and especially to Dr Stephen Jones of Dover College for the warmth of his reception.
I understand Lord P's interview with the BBC made the lunchtime news, but I missed it so will have to look out for it this evening, or the Meridian news.
By far the best bit of the day, though, was finally getting to meet Howard!

True friends stab you in the front.
