Peter.
When I said something similar many moons ago about Thatcher, you and other's had a right go at me.
Why are you different?

gary is right, he did make a similar statement a long while back and i was extremely critical of it.
the general consensus then was that i was wrong so since then i have bowed to the will of the majority who think it o.k to wish people dead.

Not wishing Scargill dead, just wanting more truth to be revealed about the miners' strike. Much of which can't be revealed under the 30-year rule regarding Cabinet papers, and much that needs to be known about Soviet backing for the NUM which nobody dare reveal while there is a risk of being sued.

We had an ex miner customer who made visits to Russia and had communist connections in London who continued to visit him on long after the strike. He used to brag about the money he arranged to help as he put it.

30, no I'm not privy to it. But there's information to cone out from both sides.
We know Jack Jones was a traitor in the pay of the Russians for many years. How many more?

# 27 typical side step when confronted...``.I'm looking forward to Scargill's funeral``.....is looking forward to his
death......or do you want it `defined `
# 24 typical arrogance of the`Few` Gary,just look at # 20 & # 25......

what info could jack jones give to a foreign power that would make him a traitor, he would never have been privvy to information that would endanger national security?

Reg, are you insinuating that I am exaggerating or lying as I can assure you he did visit Russia when most people were not allowed and was quite open about his communism.
I think Gary will know exactly who I mean as I think I have mentioned him before.

I want all of it out in the open, from all sides. I want the true story to be told about what happened before, during and after the strike.
If you think that I care, which way the brown stuff flies, then you really don't know me.
They all behaved appallingly and all deserve to face the music.
But that won't bring back our pits, or the years of misery and it still will not make up for thousands of innocent miners and their families that had to pay for such vindictive spite that was thrown at them, for trying to protect their families and their communities.
BarryW,
Peter might be right about Scargill but we all know when the truth comes out about Thatcher and it will, you will continue to ignore the facts as you always do.

The dislike of her was not all about the miners certainly my dislike of her has nothing to do with them and more about 3.5 million unemployed, the thousands who lost their homes, the Poll Tax, the asset striping, the Seaman etc etc.
The funeral is over now let her rest in peace she will always be love4 and disliked and that will never change, Time now to move on. I am glad however the funeral went off peacefully,

jan, i don't think there has been a time when it was difficult to visit the soviet union, they have always wanted hard currency.
when i went in the 70's moscow and leningrad were behind only paris in the numbers taking city breaks.

Sorry Howard I phrased that badly, what I meant was places that tourists did not go unless invited, at least that was what we were told.
