  No Brian. I overheard a senior officer tell a PC to "Sieze that tape". The camera in question was operated by a by-stander who was filming the police tactics. The camera was returned without the tape after being forcibly removed.
  
  My point is that this was a third party not at all involved with the demonstrators.

  Just had this in from Dover Harbour Board following today's trials...

  Following some extensive modification by her owners, the mv Joline arrived at Dover today to undertake a berthing trial. The purpose of the trial was to establish the feasibility of the vessel utilising the Port's large vehicle ferry berths in the Eastern Docks.
  
  The result was inconclusive but important information was obtained as to the precise adjustments that will need to be made in order for the ship to moor safely and securely in the berth and connect properly with the loading bridge. It is expected that the owner will arrange for further modifications to be made to the vessel which will then return again for further proving trials.
  
  The timetable for undertaking the work to the ship and the date for its return for a repeat trial is a matter for the owner to determine. Dover Harbour Board has not been advised of any further dates for the next trial.

  ok,so our mp,dhb,rspca etc want tp ban live sheep/calves through the port.isnt exporting horses etc the same thing,i could go futher say the exporting and inporting of live people.if its all banned there would be nothing coming through dover at all.just a thought people.

  Having watched the news, after seeing the ship involved i would not sail in it in any kind of rough sea at all. On another point young Irish beef are shipped down to Italy weekly for breeding purposes as i believe are a lot of sheep.I have also seen the sheep coming through quite peaceful until the hit the wall of noise that the protesters make. The ports are not the place to protest but rather it should be done in Brussels they are the only body that can stop the trade.

  roger,try telling that to the screeming banchies who stand out side of the docks.yesterday was a fiasco,with the ship doing berthing trials,with a few protesters bouncing around making fools of them selfs.i am not quite sure if they are mentaly sound or not.

  i think the demonstrators are right in thinking that their protests at the dock gates is the most effective way of getting across their message, as seen on both sets of local news yesterday.
  
  lobbying the e.u. parliament would have no effect.
