It looks like this is for the long term , with councils across the country struggling for lorry drivers .

I was watching BBC Breakfast this morning and there was a report on the rubbish collections in Stafford.
In the background was a rubbish truck and sure enough, it belonged to Veolia!
I know there is a problem with a driver shortage, but clearly new, efficient rosters are being rolled out everywhere, or maybe just with the councils that are regretting awarding certain contracts.

Curiously, I can't see DDC on the list of affected councils:

Didn't turn up in my neck of the woods this week though!
Luckily I've got a tip booking at 8 tomorrow.

So much for rumours of the Council's refuse collection problems getting sorted - in fact they continue, with no garden service for another month.

We were going to sign up earlier this year but I bought a garden shredder instead, people should get their money refunded as their contract is not being honoured.

Where I live in Buckland village, there’s been no missed collections.

Buckland was a village before being consumed by Dover.
I could call it “Lower Whitfield” too

One will have to wait and see the truth of it! I thought that a 'refund' was defined as 'a repayment of a sum of money'.

What a con a discount of how much I wonder? That discount will be no use to those who no longer need or want to have their garden waste collected.

Much like the southern water refund from a couple of years ago:
"We'll reduce your bills over the coming years!"
'As long as you are still using our service!'

How long was it suspended? 10 weeks? So, say 5 collections missed. Given you pay £1.40 for each collection (£35 ÷ 25), then that's £7 discount.
If you no longer subscribe, just re-join for the year, then you'll get your money back.
