Pleased to say that mine was collected at 07.10 this morning. Some residents were hurriedly putting it back out after taking it in last night!
I wonder what a time and motion study would make of it.

I get that it may be tricky keeping up with bin and, in this case, garden refuse collections at present, but for the DDC website to continue to claim that garden waste was collected from Whitfield on 31st July despite numerous 'missed collection' reports is a bit much: it wasn't. Plus I'll bet that you won't be allowed to put twice as much out in a fortnight's time.

I could quite easily be wrong but I think I read a little while ago that garden waste collections had been put on hold. I was told by a friend that because of illness and holidays they were about 15 bin men short at the moment.

Just read the following on their FB page.......
Dover District Council
We are sorry to inform our garden waste customers that no garden waste collections will be happening for the remainder of this week. This is to help our contractors focus resources on waste and recycling collections, as waste services are further disrupted following the impact of the national shortage of HGV drivers and COVID-19 isolation requirements.
Please keep your garden waste bags on your property and put them out for your next collection.
The Council and Veolia are working hard to address these challenges and keep the disruption to residents to a minimum. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

It depends who you talk to as to answer you will get .
If you speak with the workers they will tell you the jobs being done on the cheap , not enough lorries or staff, so take that into account and add covid isolations etc and you can see this is never going to be resolved anytime soon .
So the short term issues raised in the new contract are now changing,to different arguments.
Quite a number of people are raising complaints against DDC .
Iv even. Had one councillor tell me it's going before the scrutiny committee as though the administration has lost control of the situation .
It really is a mess (excuse the pun lol)

Late yesterday afternoon one of the "cage" type vehicles normally used to pick up from the bins arrived to collect the recycling. It was actually picked up last Wednesday, one day before the refuse.
At the moment the website claims that today, Thursday (5th) is collection day to be collected on the 6th! We shall see.

DDC have earmaked £3 million plus for the project on The Western Heights .Surely it would be better investing more money into a decent contact for the waste services. You can say people are sick but it well known they have less vehicles and fewer crews .No decent toilets and terrible seating
Sort the basics out .

DDC just put out another press release apologising re non collection of Garden Waste They are looking at refunding money when our next bill comes in .They also suggest using the tip

From the same email that Sue refers to is this statement:-
"Given the volume of enquiries, we’re kindly asking residents not to contact the council about their collections. We are aware of areas where collections have been missed, and these will be collected as soon as possible. Please see our website for the latest service information."
Given that my refuse etc is often missed when the website states that it has been collected how can they be aware?
