of course ian, goes without saying.
bern
funnily enough after taking that shot early this morning i had reason to negotiate the pavement of pencester road that is fairly narrow.
just outside of marks and spencer's side entrance there is a litter bin(rare i know) so it is purely one way pedestrian traffic.
just as i passed it i felt something touch my side, it was the handlebar of a bicycle that decided to overtake me!!
in fairness i have to say that the lady was going slow enough not to injure anybody and apologised profusely sadly she then proceeded to do the same to the pedestrian in front of me.

I turned from Ladywell into the High St this morning and narrowly missed a cyclist who was wandering across the road as he was looking at the burnt out church - going the wrong way.
I was still shaking when I narrowly missed a pedestrian kamikazing across London Road between the traffic - Hi Terry!

Who is deleting all these postings ? Is it the poster or the Editor/Assistant Editor ?
First we had Jacqui's, now Ian's.

Sorry people, I deleted my own post.
Some subjects do completely wind me up and I posted some comments I should not have.
It was not directed at any forumites but to the idiots that live around us.
By now I have a feeling I would have been an ex member.

that is the benefit of being able to delete our own posts, we all go off on one at times then when we see it in print want to get rid.
Blimey, I know! Have done the same myself! I just wish I had seen Ians post before it was cleaned up!! However, I can probably make a stab at it - much as I wish I had done at that blinking cyclist...........

having seen a friend cross(without looking) at ladywell from the high street to go towards london road, and get knocked down, and seriously injured, andsince sadly died, I often wonder why people at that crossing don't look behind them at traffic coming from that direction and turning right into ladywell.
thats abad corner, as is the one at bridge street where i have seen so many near misses.
usually because peestrians just cross without looking.
often it's not the car drivers fault.

My gripe is people who ride thier bike into the waiting room at the Train Station and onto the platform. The station is full of children and old people.I also shout can you push your bike please and normally get a load of verbal.
So when they come over to ask me something I pretend I can't hear them,so they repeat themselves and I say sorry you ignored me so I am ignoring you,I asked you to get off your bike and you chose not to listen. Then I tell them of a story that happened at Walmer Station where someone rode thier bike onto the platform and over the platform in front of a train that killed him.
The other day I saw someone who rode thier bike across the waiting room and up the slope to the toilets nearly clipping a young child, although I shouted at him he still rode his bike back round the semi blind corner and over a elderly womans foot. She hit him with her umbrella but the look on the man's face was worth seeing
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Early this afternoon when coming out of Morrison's car-park, there were about 6 or 8 cyclists from some (cycling) club, cycling on the pavement towards Bridge Street. Cars were having a problem with them when trying to turn into the car-park, but they seemed oblivious to the aggravation they were causing.
Earlier, when turning right into Ladywell, with the lights green of course and my indicators on, I was surprised to see about three guys eating burger and chips just crossing the road, walking right in front of me.
I had to toot the guy in front as he was about to get run over, he did jump and his chips went in the air. They must have known there were traffic lights, but just carried on walking - their food being more important than their safety.
People just don't seem to care.

That is what really annoys me when cyclists are on the pavement going against the one way system. There is no excuse it is just pure lawbreaking it makes me so

you do expect organised cycle clubs to be responsible, not always so.
last summer a group of between 30 and 40 dutch cyclists rode through the centre on a saturday morning, beggars belief.
