enough of them around this morning, took this shot to show the wide age range of them, seems that kids always get the blame.

It was an elderly man that nearly ran into me, not that one as far as I can remember.
Cyclists like some dog owners are a law unto themselves, but we have been through this before and it has got us nowhere.

it is important to keep the pressure up.
i remember we tried to find out how many fines the dog warden had handed out to no avail.

I'm afraid I bent his ear a bit on the subject a couple of weeks ago after I posted on here about invisible police and he dropped in to introduce himself.

Coincidence or does somebody at the station read the forum, then ignore our remarks about stopping the ignorant b.....s
I can never understand why these idiots are not stopped it would surely help the crime figures or do these sort of things not count.

I can only think that the police regard it as a victimless crime and therefore unworthy of their attention. If so, like parking it should be decriminalised and enforcement delegated to PCSOs and traffic wardens. Or make it legal and make riders carry insurance.

jan
you can be certaiin of that.
peter
not really a victimless crime, i have been bowled over by one, left me bruised.
i shudder to think of the result of a collision with someone frail and elderly.

Going of subject a bit.But what bugs me is people parking on corners, blocking the veiw of motorist trying to get round the corners.
I have spoke to the psco a few times, but he tells me that as the street is a quite street (not much crime),he does not come up here in the evenings, but will have a walk round one evening, but it never happens. The cars still park on the corners.
I can tell you now none have been issued, same as the 7.5 wight limit on the A 20 going to London was half way up the hill when an Irish lorry pulled right out in front of me never seen a police car stop any one on that road Kent police a total wast of space. Hears a good one for you a coach from Europe was going up and down snargate street this morning holding up traffic so i got in front of him, stop and ask were he was trying to get to the beech said one of the interpreters, i said follow me and i took him round to the sea front to park his coach. As i was leaving a police car stop and asked why did i stop the coach i said he was lost is there a problem he said i had an attitude Problem got in his car and pissed off

Do you mean we actually have five real policemen in Dover or did we borrow some from elsewhere.

Grrrr! @ cyclists.especially when more than 1 abreast. And if the two wheelers have an engine less powefull than my hairdryer ( moped menaces) i will give them even less courtesy.
Don't get me wrong if 2 wheelers obey the law of highway so will i.

mmmm as a cyclist who does obey the road traffic act does that mean you motorists will
a) give me more than an inch of clearance when you pass me
b) not use the turning boxes at traffic lights as a way to get ahead of someone else - after all they are there for me so I can safely turn right
c) not cut me up when you change lanes or want to turn left
d) recognise that I have about 2 square inches of rubber and a cycle helmet between me and death (you are sitting in a metal box with crumple zones etc.)
e) dim your lights at night so I am not blinded when you are driving towards me, I know you can see my lights and all my reflective strips
f) not tailgate me when we are on a narrow road, I will pull in to let you pass when it is safe for me to do so
g) use your mirrors when you pull up and open your drivers door - I am really not invisible
Funnily enough there is nothing in the Road Traffic Act or Highway Code that says cyclists cannot cycle 2 abreast but then as most motorists forget the latter as soon as they tear up their L plates ....
