Nothing has been done underhand all meetings are open to the public all books on any meeting are always there for the public to look at. I was a town cllr and know that all records of meetings are put in a safe place for years.
Go and see for yourself.
As for the D,H,B management team resigning and being in disarray is rubbish and not true. I think some of the forum members need to be care full on how they post and what they say about what is said or done .There are laws in place on how far and what can be said and how to put it.
But why take any notice of me, just carry on.

It is my understanding that Mr Rix do not vote on this issue.
This the trouble Mr Vic some people shout without knowing the full facts.

I don't think anyone is shouting re the above post ,only pointing out declarations of interest should be declared. As for Vic four years on the Town Council does not make you an expert.

I'm sure if any complaints of improper conduct are made to the town council they will be fully investigated by the appropriate people. No point in throwing around wild accusations from a position of ignorance. But if I'm honest I would admit that everything does not appear as it should.

I feel sure that Mr Rix declared an interest and didn't vote but did he speak on the issue at the meeting.

I have been told the 'facts' of this by two different people. They agree in all material respects but as there are serious allegations of impropriety I must remain silent for legal reasons until investigations are concluded. In the meantime I shall be asking the town clerk for an explanation, under FOI if necessary.

This is an online link to the
Good Councillors Guide which should be issued to all Local Councillors in booklet form.
Worth a read by anyone who wants to know how things should happen at parish and town councils and much shorter than going through all the relevant Local Government Acts. There have been updates since it was written, e.g. on the right of the public to record council meetings, and the new requirements as to what councils have to publish on their websites.

Page 24 is very interesting "discussion and/or voting on a DPI" - will and digest the rest later Ray.
Meanwhile is there a way of postponing this item from tonight's meeting whilst a full investigation takes place?

Following this up and looking at Declarations of Interest of DDC Planning Committee councillors (I'm bored, it's raining, and I can't get on my allotment

), the chairman simply puts his employment down as
DEFRA without saying what he does, but if that's any port related activity then it should be declared at the meeting, or he might even need to stand aside.

Yes high winds, confirmed by a brief chat with a site worker earlier. Can't blame DHB for the weather

Don't remember seeing Hythe Bay fish restaurant or the Marina Hotel objecting to the plans. Both boast about the wonderful sea views and must be a pull for both businesses. Some ugly cargo sheds are hardly going to help them.

Mr Dixon please stop saying things that are not true, the pier will reopen to the public to walk along and with a eating outlet after the work is done.
