If the referendum goes ahead there will be a lot of happy voluntary groups as DHB will be throwing money at them for the photo opportunities and the local papers will earn from the full page spreads telling us how cuddly they are.

Maybe DTC could apply to the next round of funding for the costs of running the referendum?

The other thing which needs to be done is to bring all public bodies as defined in the 2011 Act within the scope of the Freedom of Information Act. At present DHB is exempt although mtp2 tells them to act according to the spirit of the FOI Act.

Mr Vic, I made no comment either in support of or against the DWDR. I am not in a position to state anything other than what the DHB has put into the public domain and what can be seen and measured on the ground for a comparison with what is available today. People will make their own minds up based on the facts, which you failed to accurately present.
I remain as a Community Director Designate and have acted and spoken accordingly and will continue to do so.
My comment and opinion compared what you were saying to what the DHB have published and said and clearly I am off the fence with regards to your view about what is on offer because your view does not match what the DHB have said and published. I feel sure that no one would wish to have their plans misrepresented by anyone, no matter how well meaning they are.

I think you are trying to keep this going as a headline because you think in doing that it will help your case,I will not let that happen so I have gone as far as I want to for now.

That is not the way I operate Mr Vic. I merely wanted to correct your inaccuracies because they were bugging me. I do not have a case other than to ensure that the correct information is out there and that misrepresentations are countered by facts.

You are wasting your breath Neil. Vic is so stubborn I really wish he was on our side.

The way Mr Garstin has wrote his post is telling us That Mr Wiggins is still on his side and I have always known that anyway.

As for misrepresentations might be done by both sides do you not think.?I think you need to read what is being said in the sea news to get what is true and what most of us are thinking .A big well done to both the District and the D.H.B. for turning out at that big show and letting us all know that you are both behind and working with each other on the best way forward for Dover and the port. This would have never happen if the DHB had lost the fight for the port some years ago and the blues did not get in again. My view only on how I see it.

'Modernising Trust Ports - version 2' is a
document published by the DfT which tells trust ports how they should operate. It is not compulsory, merely a form of guidance but as it outlines best practice for the governance of publicly owned ports, Trust ports should be observing it fully, or explain why not.

Mr Vic, I think Peter may have been referring to 'our side' as in DPPT the organisation that he heads.
I am not currently on anyone's side and am not working with anyone, I'm way too busy managing my own business and doing consultancy Masterplanning on a US$15 billion ports and logistics project for the Egyptian Government.
Compare what I wrote in counter to your misinformation to what the DHB have published and actual measurements on the ground - you say you only write what you see, so do just that for once - and you will see that I have written nothing that is not exactly as published by the DHB and nothing that cannot be measured on the ground as a comparison. I have not and will not misrepresent anything, there is no need, the information is available to all, I just reproduced it to counter the utter tosh that you were writing.

That document that Peter refers too is not really of much use, cannot see DHB taking much notice of it unless they are legally bound by the contents.

Yes Neil you are right.
Yes Howard and if they ignore mtp2 they will be harshly punished by the severely raised eyebrow of a junior civil servant.
