Good news for Dover.
However, does below statement mean only Dover Town will benefit from this Community Fund and all surrounding villages including Deal will Not benefit?
"A percentage of pretax profits will channel into a community fund which can be used for regeneration anywhere within the Dover town boundaries, not just the seafront area".

the devil is in the detail, something we don't have. charlie must have known the decision in advance having booked the town hall for a meeting in may.

As I predicted yesterday both Charlie and Clair are patting themselves on the back. Lets wait and see who the community representatives are before we jump to conclusions, and not just who they are but who and how they are appointed.
At least one must be a representative of the DHB workforce. I hope Neil, an expert in his field, gets a senior role.

If Charlie knew, he was keeping schtum. As you say Howard, the devil is in the detail, but also in the delivery by DfT and DHB apparatchiks of something we shall recognise from the headline announcement.

Peter, he wouldn't have called a meeting at the town hall if he didn't have advance info.
Charlie is many things (pro EU for example) but he's not stupid

Brian, if someone put £1 million in your bank account, you would wonder what the catch was.............

#250, David, you don't listen. Charlie is pro a common market but not pro the EU in its present form, yet not sufficiently extreme to join UKIP. Do pay attention. I'll probably see you on Saturday morning, great fun heckling a political newbie.

the more i think about this the more it looks like a fudge from mr hammond.
he's been down a few times met everybody concerned so knows that there is a chasm in thinking between dhb and dppt.
surely he should have stipulated who the new non executive directors are and not left things up in the air.
if it is left to dhb to choose then we will be left with the same set up we have now.

Charlie refers to the Community Board? reads to me like community representatives on the Dover Harbour Board?

Peter, his voting record on the EU suggests otherwise.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday, I can use you as the warm up for Brian

Besides Peter, Merkel has already told Cameron in no uncertain terms what he can do with reform. I want to ask Charlie what, if anything, he would like to reform.
At least Clegg is honest, he wants to stay in because its his pension pot, Charlie is waiting to be told if he wants to stay in or not.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, David. Now that we have a decision on the port (for which Charlie needed to demonstrate loyalty to the government), you may see a difference. I suppose then he would get criticised for making a u-turn. Easy to throw stones when you're not in the firing line.

If it is at it seems, that only Dover Town will benefit from this fund, then I am sure the people of Dover will be happy but why are our surrounding Villages, Deal & Sandwich, not going to benefit?
I thought we were all under that same umbrella, all in it together?
