Ross, if you are not a DPPT manager, then you cannot release an official statement on their behalf regarding the question whether their proposal has been accepted or rejected.
If they persist in not giving the Constituency the clear answer, then I shall do so for them!
And it will be copied verbatim from the official DfT response.

Alex, Ross is not a DPPT 'manager'. He is not making an official statement on DPPT's behalf, even I as a DPPT director cannot do that without Board approval. He has however given a pretty accurate summary of the facts.
And there is nothing in your mysterious letter from DfT (apart from your name and address) which is not in the public domain.

You have not received nor seen the letter, apart from an extract which I have printed in a previous post on this thread, so how can DPPT release such a statement?
The "People's Port" are avoiding telling us all whether their proposals have been accepted or rejected by the DfT.
Just tell us all which answer is correct..

OK, so we need board approval from the "People's Port" before a reply can be given.
Meanwhile, Ross, who is not a board member, is doing the explaining.

Howard, hi, as per the post references that I've given, yes, the process is still on going and, when the updated offer and proposal is ready, it'll be presented as per my previous posts.

Neil,
"When the updated offer and proposal is ready,"
What updated offer and proposal?
I have asked you to say whether the DPPT offer has been accepted or rejected.

Neil, please answer my one simple question:
whether the DPPT offer has been accepted or rejected.
No-one in Dover Constituency knows of any updated offer and proposal.
Is this your way of saying that your offer has been rejected by the Government, the many ministers and lords whom you have spoken to?

http://www.dover.uk.com/forums/dover-forum/latest-on-the-port?p=35 refer to post 688. Would you understand better if I wrote it in Tagalog, Mandarin, German, Greek, Italian, Gaelic? DPPT ownership, governance, funding and regen proposals have not been rejected and the process is on going.

Neil, you were supposed to give one answer. In English.
The DPPT have publicly claimed to represent the Community of Dover and District, and took pat in a Public Consultation which has ended in December 2012 with the Decision Minister's letter.
I will give you an official statement from the DfT presently, regards DPPT.
And then another one from the same DfT.
There's no need to rush this thread, it will be over within days when the whole position of DPPT has been defined through official statements.
I'll be back tonight with statement N.1.

DfT 15th August 2012
"(The Decision Minister's) role will be to reach an objective decision on the proposal from Dover Harbour Board based on the information the Board has provided and the representations that have been received on the proposal."
So, the Decision Minister's letter dated December 2012 already takes into account the representations received on the proposal.
There is no on-going consideration of the DPPT proposal. That proposal was a representation - or series of representations - in the Public Consultation, which has now ended, precisely 21st December 2012.

DfT 23rd May 2012:
"In relation to the Dover People's Port Trust (DPPT), this body is being treated in a similar manner to other bodies and organisations that have made representations on the proposed sale of the Port of Dover."
Therefore, DPPT do not have any on-going position with the DfT regards the Port of Dover, and the Decision Minister's letter is most final.
Any statements from DPPT claiming the opposite are in contradiction to official Department for Transport clarifications.
