That’s why Dover misses out ,Why let the minority spoil it for the rest.I hope their car registration was noted. How reckless.A small child could have been enjoying the water feature .Thats when Enforcement is needed.

Sue, Sue, Sue!
This must have brought a smile to so many. We need MORE stuff like this. I only wish I'd thought of it first.

You and your silly humour.Dont encourage them they will all try it.Yes have a sense of humour but when when a person walks through there they don’t expect a car to be alongside them.Bad enough walking up the Main Street. You and Keith little boys at heart.By the way I have to some times use a stick.Might come in handy.

The children are back at school, little ones are with an adult and that car is easily seen.
The thing is simply a waste of water and money except at the weekend if it is hot enough and there is no rain.

Its not the first to have done this, theres been a few pics floating around on social media of various high powered cars posing for the camera. As for enforcement theres very little and it never lasts for long, all resources are stretched to the limit and have to cover such a large area, theres often very little chance of any punishment.

Well I blame the architect! Surely they knew that putting this up in Dover would result is this without building some decorative restrictive bollards?
No one appears to have been hurt and actually a car wash was my first impression when I saw the mist in action! Funny? Yes Silly? Yes, but this is Dover after all!

It should have been turned off when the children went back to school especially as it can not be used when they have events in the square. The comments after the article are what most of us have said since the beginning of this project.

I hear the live events that DDC have organised for the revamped market square have been a disaster, attracting a few drunks and random people who were already in town. Basically a complete copy of what happened with the Dover Big Screen. They just never learn.

Oh dear, it’s all rather embarrassing to visitors!

To be fair to DDC, it wasn't just their vision:
'The original idea for the improvements to the square came from the the business group Dover Town Team. Supported by Dover District Council and Dover Town Council, it submitted a £2.44 million bid to the government’s Coastal Communities Fund.'

To be fair the square did need some improvement because of the fountain problems.
The problem for me is what we got is to much of another white elephant as Dover Pilot points out, it is not exactly attractive and does not really invite people into the town.
