I see that the proposed scheme is running into financial problems .It in the paper today .Once again they have not got the Costings right .Even talk of modifying the scheme.I leave you to look at the article .
Why do we have so many schemes going on ?.

Call me a cynic but all these schemes and buckets of money which seem to be coming our way almost daily don't seem to have resulted in any increased visitor numbers to the town.

I remember well the Olyardmpic 'legacy' which was also to lead to increased visitors to the town especially in terms of overnight stays.
When I asked at Scrutiny what the present figures were the officers admitted they had no idea.
Loadsa money spent again with no way of measuring 'sucess'!
BTW we were also meant to be a lot fitter having all been inspired to take up sporty things.
£100s of thousands spent and conveniently forgotten as the mad buggers move onto the next wizard wheeze ....

Did you ever see Cllr Collor in his 'free' Olympic track suit?
(See also free blazer for Open Golf at St George's)
He looked like an overweight toddler about to burst out of his baby-gro!

Looks like the problem has been around for simply ages in Dover Sue.

Er, I'm a little confused - how many Market Squares do we have?

Never mind Button, maybe we will end up with something completely different.
Anything must surely be better than those silly white concrete? arches and benches.

The illustrations of the remake, especially the hoops (what is that all about please?) of the Market Square make it look absolutely ridiculous totally out of keeping with the historic centre of Dover, not to mention the fact that the site is notoriously wind, gale and rain swept any way.Who designs these things? That's my personal opinion .
