Quite simply, DPPT need to show an official declaration stating that their proposal has been accepted or rejected.
The 21 December 2012 is passed, the Decision Minister has made his decision, and the "People's Port" plainly refuse to answer a simple question: has their offer been accepted or rejected?
Just ONE answer,

No we do not Alexander.
The consultation on the DHB privatisation scheme has finished with the rejection of the DHB privatisation scheme. The process to ensure that we never have to go through the same issue all over again is far from complete - capiche?

technically not so neil, although mr jenkins said that dhb would not put in another offer, mr hammond gave them carte blanche to do so on the 20th december.

Howard, for as long as Dover is a Trust Port the DHB can always make a new application with a new proposal whenever they wish. That is the point I am making and which some forumites continuously fail to grasp.
Last December both technically and in reality, the then DHB proposal, having been consulted, was rejected.
For now the DHB has said that it has no intention of making a new transfer request, but that is no guarantee that Dovorians will not have to challenge yet another privatisation bid in a day, a week, a month, a year, 5 years or even a generation. Hence the process to ensure that Dovorians do not have to challenge another privatisation attempt is on going.

Mr Wiggins you are the only one still going on about it even the Dover MP has moved into the background of it,just wal;k away from it,you went for it but lost that does happen to most of us at times, but to keep on and on about it is costing you any support you have left.As I said to you last year good thing you did not bet your house on it because you would be homless now. They would not even take a bet in the bookmakes on it now.

now this is where i have a problem. neil rightly points out that d.h.b could go for privatisation tomorrow morning or in a decade or more, where does this leave dover?
the issue has always been about money being set aside for regeneration either by the community port or the peoples port, as things stand neither is going to happen.
forgetting the bit about regeneration dosh, i cannot see potential investors clamouring to rain money all over dover when this uncertainty goes on.

The very bad way that the lorry drivers are treated by the KCC and the DDC we will see them going to other ports ,we need them all but they need to be better looked after.

Howard, "Neil rightly points out that D.H.B. could go for privatisation tomorrow morning or in a decade or more".
This problem that we all have, regards this statement, will be solved very soon.
The DfT will give an official explanation to me, whether DHB will be able to put forward another privatisation bid.
The request for this information is in their office (DfT), and it will be made known to the Press.
The whole farce will end once and for all.
We cannot take the word of DPPT on this matter, as it is their bargaining tool to attract membership.
Only an official statement from the competent Government Department will be of any use to us.
Meanwhile, I am presently going to point out to Neil DPPT's position with the DfT. T'will be before the clock strikes ten

In my posts I have tried to remain unbiased, have pointed out some of the problems with the peoples port, but on the other hand Alexanders view that the govt is to write just to him????? either Alex alexander is not understanding the situation, or decides not to.
If the Minister is soon to make a decision on the next step forward, this will go to all consultee's, the peoples port, alexander, big business, etc etc
What I find amusing, is on the one hand alexander says he needs no support and is just another consultee, and the peoples port has the ears of the minister.
yet on the other in his latest posts hes saying the minister is soon to write to just him?????

Latest news on the Ports Act 1991 (Amendment) Bill 2012-13

The Bill had its first reading on 25 June 2012 through. The second reading was expected on 1 March 2013 but was withdrawn.

So! What do we make of this?
Perhaps the experts on the Forum can explain away here?
They will give us a lengthy explanation, won't they?
